Debate Is Alive In Campaign, But Under The Surface

WASHINGTON -- Abortion, the issue that polarizes the American electorate like few others, has been almost absent from the public political radar this election.
But don't be fooled: The issue is very much alive. Activist groups, convinced that President Bush's and John Kerry's opposing views are strong political ammunition, are attempting to use the issue to mobilize people to vote and otherwise energize the electorate.
