Pissing away our American Heritage

...

A thing of our past? Posted by Hello

A Planned Ordinance, hurting independent diners and restaurants

Small Businesses across the nation get few services, but many fees, fines, and outrageous taxes.

Ask for police protection and service, and if you’re in a downtown area or lack political influence you don’t get any, just scrutiny of every transaction and action to see if there is a slight excuse for another fee, fine, arrest, or concocted event to confiscate the cash and assets.

Running a small business can put you at more risk for arrest and financial ruin, beyond what the average criminal parasite does. The parasite does not invest and give to the community and isn’t a revenue collection target either, as usually they are hard to find and to fine.

Corporations have a direct lobby into legislators to get pretty much what they want, when they want it.

An ordinance in Connecticut would require small and large restaurants to have a filtration system in dishwashing and sink drains, installed as early as this upcoming January costing a few thousand dollars, up to twelve thousand dollars.

If a few dishes are being washed, how much grease and oil can there be? A small volume restaurant would produce what a few normal households would.

Small restaurants might not have the space for the device and when rents for space are a struggle every month, the added cost might just put even more family, Mom and Pop shops out of business.

The time isn’t far off that America will have the same limited choices from the small number of chains, ever-expanding absorbing independents and lesser chains, border to border, sea to shining sea.

When there isn’t competition, policies can be strict and prices can rise.I hope to be long gone, being free and American elsewhere, when there are only a few corporations, merged with government to run everything, including every minute aspect of your daily life.

TOO LATE, is approaching fast.

Rowland Grand Jury Probe Ends

Friend's Dealings With State Remain Under Investigation

February 24, 2005By EDMUND H. MAHONY, JON LENDER, And DAVE ALTIMARI Courant Staff Writers

Federal prosecutors have wrapped up the grand jury investigation that led to corruption charges against former Gov. John G. Rowland, but sources say investigators are still examining Rowland friend Robert V. Matthews' business dealings with the state.

The dismissal of the grand jury that stirred turmoil in the state's political establishment was disclosed in a footnote to a federal appeals court decision released earlier this week. More than two years of grand jury proceedings on the case ended on Jan. 24, the footnote said.

Rowland pleaded guilty to a federal conspiracy charge a month earlier, on Dec. 23, and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 11. Three of the ex-governor's associates - construction executive William Tomasso, former Rowland co-chief of staff Peter N. Ellef, and Ellef's son Peter N. Ellef II - were indicted by the grand jury on a variety of corruption charges in September.

They have pleaded not guilty.

The discharge by the U.S. attorney's office of the grand jury appears to end a multi-year investigation of allegations that members of the Rowland administration steered millions of dollars of state contracts in return for lucrative gifts and payoffs. But sources said law enforcement interest in Matthews has not flagged.

Matthews, whose companies received $4 million in state loan guarantees from a state development authority controlled by the administration, surfaced repeatedly over the course of the Rowland investigation - perhaps most notably for agreeing to first rent, then buy, Rowland's Washington, D.C., condominium at significantly inflated prices.

Investigators have pored over records of the loan guarantees and the condominium transactions. In March 2004, Woodbury antiques dealer Wayne Pratt pleaded guilty to a federal tax violation in connection with the condominium sale. Pratt admitted he agreed to act as a middleman in the sale in an effort to disguise the transaction between Rowland and Matthews.

However, sources have said evidence concerning the condominium transactions may not have been presented to the Rowland grand jury. That suggests federal prosecutors may be pursuing a separate line of inquiry involving Matthews, lawyers familiar with the investigation have said.

Matthews' involvement in the Rowland investigation is not the multimillionaire developer's first brush with federal law enforcement. He narrowly escaped prosecution about a decade ago after making a secret payment to another Waterbury politician, then-Mayor Joseph J. Santopietro, who was later convicted. In the early 1990s - at a time when Matthews had a substantial real estate portfolio in the city - Matthews gave $25,000 in cash to Santopietro in a brown paper bag, several sources familiar with the Santopietro case say.

Sources familiar with the Rowland investigation believe that federal authorities have been trying to build a tax fraud case against Matthews. Late last year, sources said, prosecutors were seeking state tax returns for Matthews' businesses. Lawyers familiar with the investigation said federal officials could empanel a new grand jury to examine Matthews' tax and business dealings.

The discharge of the Rowland grand jury could be good news for other Rowland friends and business associates who, over the last two years, have been caught up in the investigation.

Among those are:

Theodore Anson, former state commissioner of the state Department of Public Works, who resigned under pressure after it was revealed he accepted a free set of plans for an addition to his Bridgewater home from Kaestle Boos, a New Britain architectural firm that has worked extensively with the Tomassos.

P.J. Delahunty, former deputy commissioner of public works, who was involved in the award of millions of dollars of state contracts to Tomasso companies and provided free work through his private construction company on Rowland's Litchfield vacation cottage on Bantam Lake.

Michael H. Cicchetti, Rowland's longtime personal lawyer and sometime business partner, and Watertown paving contractor Anthony Cocchiola, both partners in a land deal in which Rowland made about $60,000 off an investment of $7,000 - less than any other partner contributed.

The lucrative land investment partnership was called First Development Group LLC and built a 24-lot subdivision in Naugatuck.Cocchiola's paving company received about $900,000 in state work after the partnership was formed. He also did $2,000 worth of work at Rowland's Litchfield cottage in October 1997 and wasn't paid until September of 2004.

What piqued investigators' interest was a $175,000 grant given to the town of Prospect in 2000 to study the feasibility of building an industrial park on land owned by a partnership called RMK Prospect Associates. That partnership included all of the partners in First Development Group, except Rowland.

Cicchetti approached the town in 1998 about buying his group's land for an industrial park. He then met with state Department of Economic Development officials to pitch the project in May 1999. Department officials eventually decided to give the town a $175,000 grant.

The grant was approved by the State Bond Commission, chaired by Rowland, who voted for it. If the industrial park is built on the land owned by Cicchetti and Cocchiola they stand to make millions of dollars by selling the property to the town of Prospect, which would probably require even more state money to complete the purchase.

How Eminent Is A City's Domain?

Attorneys for New London, Connecticut Posted by Hello

Attorneys for the city of New London, Conn., face reporters outside the Supreme Court in Washington after arguing for the city's plan to seize private property for economic development. Thomas Londregan is speaking in the center. At left is Wesley Horton. (AP) Feb. 22, 2005

February 23, 2005By DAVID LIGHTMAN, Washington Bureau Chief, The Hartford Courant

WASHINGTON -- If New London can seize people's homes so private developers can build a hotel and convention center, what will cities do next?

several Supreme Court justices asked during arguments Tuesday.

Can a city decide to get rid of the Motel 6 and put up a Ritz-Carlton, asked Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, because the luxury hotel would produce more taxes?

"That would be OK?" she asked.

"Are we saying you can take from A and give to B if B pays more taxes?" asked Justice Antonin Scalia.

Susette Kelo, sitting in the back of the cavernous court chamber, was encouraged by such questions. Kelo is the lead homeowner in a landmark case that pits a group of New London homeowners against a city that sees their property as crucial to its development plans.

Arguing on behalf of New London, attorney Wesley Horton told O'Connor, "Yes, your honor, it would be" appropriate to replace a lower-cost motel with a plush hotel.

A city, in this example, would be exercising its time-honored right of eminent domain, Horton said. The homeowners countered that what was really at stake for New London was whether developers and the city would make more money.

Seven justices heard the case. Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist, who has thyroid cancer, has been absent from the bench since October, and Justice John Paul Stevens did not attend because his plane was delayed.

A ruling is expected in June, and despite Kelo's guarded optimism, it was hard to discern which way the justices were leaning after a lively hour during which six of the seven justices peppered the attorneys with questions. Only Justice Clarence Thomas remained silent.

Kelo left the session pleased, but many other homeowners were less sure. They seemed awed that what began as a dispute with their city had wound up in the nation's highest court.

What unfolded there Tuesday was a drama on two levels. One involves the plight of the homeowners, who don't want to leave their middle class Fort Trumbull neighborhood.

Many arrived at the court building an hour and a half before the 10 a.m. hearing Tuesday. Some stood smoking cigarettes outside in the cold and worrying whether ordinary folks like them could get a fair hearing.

Ronna Stuller, a New Haven friend and supporter of Kelo and other homeowners, drove 6½ hours to Washington; Amy Hallquist, another friend, took a train. Leading them all was Kelo, a nurse dressed in apricot - the same color as her New London home.

"I'd been to the state Supreme Court, and this was sort of like that," Kelo said quietly after the hearing.

`'But it was more formal. There was more security."

The case has the potential to be precedent-setting, shaping eminent domain policy for years to come. It also is the most prominent Connecticut case the court has considered in 40 years.

The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution bars the taking of private property for public use without compensation; courts have allowed it provided owners are rightfully compensated. But controversy has grown over whether local governments have reached too far, taking property for glitzy projects to rid a neighborhood of lower-income people.

The conflict actually reaches back to the Magna Carta, said Douglas W. Kmiec, professor of constitutional law at Pepperdine University.

Kmiec, who has studied the New London case, noted that since the 13th century, governments have recognized that "eminent domain and securing private property must coexist. Neither can be absolute.

"But, Kmiec added, "courts have engaged in a balancing act" for years.Scott G. Bullock, attorney for the Institute for Justice, a civil liberties firm, argued the case for Kelo and her allies. He agreed that government has the authority to condemn blighted areas and to take other property to meet an obvious public need.

But, Bullock said, "there have to be limits."

To simply take property to build the tax base by improving private profits is not necessarily a proper use of eminent domain.

Some justices seemed uncomfortable with that notion.

"You want me to make a distinction between blight and economic purpose?" asked Justice Anthony M. Kennedy.

"Do you really want the courts in the business of weighing evidence to see if a hospital will be successful or a road will be successful?" asked O'Connor.

Bullock said there could be reasonable standards for taking property. In a 1992 railroad case, Kennedy said it was crucial that "the condemning authorities [be] rational in their positions that some public purpose is served.

"The justices were equally tough on Horton, bringing up the question of whether it was proper for a government to condemn a lower-price property so something more glamorous - and tax-producing - could replace it.

Horton argued that "there is a democratic process" that would subject such a change to careful scrutiny, including hearings and regulatory reviews. Cities could not simply make such changes on a whim.

Nonetheless, Scalia seemed concerned that New London wanted private property for a private developer's use in a case where the homeowners did not want to leave.

Kelo, he said, "does not want to move. You're just giving it to some private individual who's going to pay more taxes."

The questioning left many of the New London spectators confused as to what the justices would decide. A decision is expected before the court ends its current term, probably in June.

"If nothing else," said Hallquist, "it was interesting to see both sides get their butts chewed a little. I don't know where this decision is going. I'm just going to leave it up to God."

A Man, the cause of an Amber Alert

...

Facing years or even decades in prison

Jeff Yeaw Posted by Hello

Some are so sick of flaws in the courts, in child protective services, and having their children under abusive individuals and unspeakable conditions, they can be driven to doing some very desperate things.

Jeff Yeaw caused an Amber Alert, December 21, 2004, for allegedly trying to take his 3 kids- a girl 3, a girl 4, and a boy 5 to safety and a warm loving environment within Connecticut, and out of a questionable agency’s, Connecticut’s DCF, and his allegedly mentally ill wife’s care, for what he believed was in the best interest of his children, rescuing them.

Jeff Yeaw is now facing years or possibly decades in prison, as early as tomorrow, in his first series of court dates.

Family and Criminal court
Rockville, CT

Today, in open court and in front of a full courtroom, I told my story of two years of corruption by judges, prosecutors, social workers and attorneys.

That Judge Jonathan Kaplan was meeting in private with the prosecutors, ordering them not to nolle my case.

That I witnessed this judge order my attorney out of a conference room so he could have a private meeting with the prosecutor Elizabeth Leaming.

He issued a restraining order and condemned me by race, religion and his own personal bias. He ruled directly against testimony that there was no abuse and didn't stop there.

On record, this judge stated that he called the State Prosecutor Chris Parakilis and ordered him not to nolle my case. (I had been arrested for refusing to return the children, when the mother was gone for the night with her boyfriend.)

He threatened me that I would lose contact with my children as he did to a father just like me, that I was presumed guilty of committing a crime and if a warrant were written the right way a judge would sign it. I was threatened not to appeal.

I appealed and two weeks later Kaplan issued a second restraining order suspending all contact with my two daughters.

There were no abuse allegation or threats of abuse and the application did not list the children. I filed a complaint against judge Kaplan and Judge Lawrence Klaczak extended the order for six months.

His reason?:

That I was unstable for filing a complaint against Judge Jonathan Kaplan and should have no contact with my children.

Two weeks later I was arrested and falsely charged with assaulting my son. (four months after the alleged assault) Family relations officer, Theresa Wassenburg, threatened me that she would call a judge and I would have no contact with my children.

At my arraignment she called judge Klaczak and he recommended a full protective order. She called state prosecutor Chris Parakilis and "unloaded" every derogatory bit of information she could to have me prosecuted.

The arrest warrant states there was no assault, the DCF findings of physical and emotional neglect was reversed, stating that I was acting completely appropriate as a parent. Yet still they pursue the charges.

I presented a grievance filed against the mothers attorney. The US States Attorney is reviewing the charges against these judges, prosecutors, family relations, the mother and her attorney.

Pages of evidence, transcripts, motions and letters of threats, false accusations, fraudulent financials and complaints to the court with every accusation of me abusing the children.

The mother, a mandated reporter never reported abuse despite dozens of motions and accusations.

The mother and her attorney went as far as to file a sworn statement to child support enforcement that she had not received a dime in child support, yet I provided records from the state and letters from her attorney that I was overpaid by $1000. How bad does it have to get.

Sleazy Landlords

...

Big Brother, the head cop, eating a citizen Posted by Hello

In Connecticut, vandals, teens abusing alcohol, thieves, prostitutes, low-level heroin and crack cocaine dealers, and other criminals are used as revenue collection tools for cities and the state.

When the useful, lifetime common criminal parasites are no longer of use to police, or they get bored, their allies end up being warehoused in prison as felons at $74/day/inmate, when crime could have been prevented in the early stages, and a productive taxpayer could have resulted.

Landlords are considered scum and few people care when a state, police, prosecutors, judges, and the system in general barbecues a landlord that has been wronged and has complained.

Squatters that gained access to my property, couldn’t be arrested as trespassers, but got a free 6 months where I had to pay for their electricity, heat, hot water, water left on, thousands in lost income and damages, with NO HELP from police and the courts, just threats from officials if I didn’t shut up and leave the state.

A retired police officer kept flooding my basement with sewage, continuing calling the health department and court officials, and I almost ended up in prison for negligence, as he wouldn’t allow me access to clean up his messes until he had taken pictures and called authorities!

Connecticut is not pro-small business, and is not in anyway ethical and good to those that invest in downtown property, including single family homes. They’re just greedy bastards out to fuck over whomever they can.

Landlord Rights and Free Speech

A letter like this one, got me thrown in prison. The letter was to the former Governor Rowland and was meant to be sarcastic, as I had complained the same way since 1998 about police and official corruption, and retaliation to silence a whistle-blower came out of the Governor's office through the head of the Connecticut State Police.

Landlord Endangered Children, Police Say
February 12, 2005 Associated Press

NEW HAVEN -- A New Haven landlord was arrested Thursday night after police said they discovered two children living in an apartment with no heat and raw sewage on the floor.

Sarah Buchanan, 40, was charged with risk of injury to a minor, reckless endangerment and cruelty. She was being held with bail set at $75,000 Friday, police said.

Police entered the two-family home on Edgewood Avenue after spotting building code damages.

Inside the building, a 6-year-old child was living in a room with several inches of sewage on the floor, police said.

A 4-year-old was also in the apartment. Police spokesman Bonnie Winchester said the children were in Buchanan's care, but were not her biological children.

New Haven Police Lt. Ray Hassett said it was one of the worst situations he's seen in 18 years on the job.

Bill Mulready Posted by Hello

Bill claims to have been abuse by Connecticut courts, financially and in regards to his children, because of his disability.

Bill is yet another victim of the system in Connecticut. As, are, his children.

Mr. Mulready might be the spearhead of landmark legislation and/or court case for the rights of the disabled and for the rights of all coming before courts.

We all want and should demand fairness in the courts, for all individuals, no matter what.

* * * *

I got off the phone about two hours ago with William Mulready, I talked with him about 2PM, February 26, 2005.

His next court date in Connecticut is this upcoming Monday.

Bill claims his business and assets may have exceeded $500,000 in value while he was married and his 16 acre estate was nestled in the affluent Southwestern section of Connecticut. Bill claimed his contracting and foundation business grossed about $440K/year.

Bill after divorce is required to pay more in child support and alimony than he makes. His business and money making potential was liquidated. His wife ended up with the assets and he, about $200,000 in debts with no way to pay, not including support and alimony.

The disparity of justice in Connecticut and in other states based on your gender is just plain appalling. Bill’s wife used the liquidated assets to start a business similar to Bill’s during the marriage and she is doing quite well, and Bill is struggling to work without a vehicle or any ability to fund a contract to completion.

His wife has liquidated some plots of land from the 16 acres netting an estimated in $200,000 to $300,000 in profit.

Bill may have to live out his life in poverty in and out of prison. His wife is living a comfortable life of leisure and affluence.

Paying your bills on time, saving for retirement, paying taxes, being attentive to your family, might mean prison and poverty for a man, and for the woman, whether or not she worked for it or not, all the assets and income if the relationship goes south.

Should men trust Connecticut and states like it with their hard work, trust, investment, and willingness to reside in Connecticut?

A well informed man, just may leave or never agree to reside in Connecticut or state with a similar anti-male attitude.

The information in this post is to my best belief and knowledge.

Thank you,

Assassination of the American Male, Assassination of the American Father

What type of future calamity are we in store for in America?

Things can’t keep going on, as they have been unabated.

American Men and especially American Fathers have been, and are being, treated as criminals and thrown in prison, and their crime?

For most, it is just the fact that they are fathers, and males that need to be taught a lesson. For most just their relationships with the mother of the child went sour, and they and their children may pay the price, for life.

If the man isn’t arrested for domestic abuse, sexual abuse, raping his children or for some other concocted reason or excuse, he is one of the lucky ones. There are abusers and batterers and they should be punished, but too often a woman’s bitterness at the break-up can translate into false accusations.

Who is the court more likely to punish, a woman, a mother of children for making false accusations, or the father based on false accusations?

Well, I’ve seen the story play out one way over and over, and it definitely isn’t in the name of justice.

Judges, male and female, take the patriarch role, and blame the head of the household, the man, for all transgressions and give him full blame for all, and he must be made to pay an overly harsh amount as punishment and suffer psychologically at the hands of the justice system.

If the woman ends up on assistance and the man pays her directly, not knowing that he is supposed to pay the state, not her directly, and the woman is getting double amounts for months or years, the court will seize bank accounts, garnishing wages, and make the man pay twice rather than prosecute a mother for fraud.

I recall having paid the amount I was supposed to, had canceled checks as proof, but was paying the mother directly. I asked a woman from the state why I should have to pay double.

Her answer, “Do you think we’ll prosecute a mother for fraud?” and then she hung up on me.
The money I saved for my daughter’s college tuition and the money I needed to operate my business were just seized with no hearing or warning.

Should I or any other fathers, trust the courts or the banks?

My friend, a war veteran, went to the apply for a job as a police officer. He took all the exams, passed the physical, and was all set to become a police officer, but was slightly behind on child support. A background check was done and he was arrested at the end of the day in front of the class for maximum embarrassment and inconvenience.

Too many fathers are required to pay on their ‘earning potential’, not their actual wages. The payments can actually exceed a man’s earnings. Two of my close friends have suffered undo hardships and may even end up in prison, further handicapping them, their earning ability, their children, and are just another individual that can’t act as productive taxpayers and consumers, but can become a liability on the system, instead of contributing to their children and to the system.

Arrears accrue every week. There is no way for a person to live, if more than they earn goes out. If the amount is adjusted, it is already too late, and the overages have to be paid anyway.

Parents of these fathers often suffer financially to keep their sons out of prison and out of a homeless shelter at great expense financially and emotionally. Along with the father, the paternal grandparents are too often denied access to the children. Three generations suffer, that’s including children, because of the abuses of men by the courts.

Men have trouble starting new families or in even being able to help out a new mate and her children. Again, suffering all around, for bad policies.

Most men don’t stick together, contact legislators, and sue for being abused.

It costs about $74/day/father to incarcerate a taxpayer, homeowner, with credit, to ruin him, make him lose his job, credit, home, maybe his car, and the respect of his parents, friends, children, and former co-workers.

Children are embarrassed by a father that has been to prison. Other kids can chant, “Your Daddy’s a jailbird!” or the child can even use abusive labels to their father refusing to see or talk to him again.

Fathers that are in the process of being taken down by the system have a stigma against other fathers that have been imprisoned, but will quickly see the light when it happens to them.

Prisons are dangerous and the psychological damage is never undone. Physical assaults, rapes, and murder in prison are a definite possibility. For what, being a father!!!???

If fathers must be punished, what about, at home incarceration, where jobs and contacts with children can be preserved?

Bonds with children, a job, credit, a home, and productive, taxpaying citizen can be preserved.

If a study was done, an absolutely devastating hit to the economy could be shown by the unfair persecution of the American male, especially fathers.

Fostering faith in the system, and in America, is based on each individual’s impressions and life experience.

Too many have lost faith, and are losing faith, everyday.

Reform of the way police handle cases, the way prosecutors maliciously act against the interests of the public and children, and the way judges rule, all too often, is a national embarrassment and a cold slap in the face to every American. Especially to all those that have suffered or died in the name of freedom, and for America values, on countless battlefields all over the world.

For what???!!!

Change is up to you. Yeah, you!

Secrets of wartime spies revealed

The Republic of Ireland considered joining the Allies during World War II, according to a new book.

According to the wartime journal of MI5's Director of Counter-Espionage, Guy Liddell, an agent wrote to Eamon De Valera in September 1940.
The Irish prime minister wrote back to say he was "intrigued" by the idea.

Among the other wartime secrets in the book by Nigel West is that British agents painted one foot blue in an attempt to fool German spies.

This was part of a bizarre trap laid for Nazi parachutists.

Trick

It was thought Mr Liddell's adversary, Admiral Canaris, was plotting to drop dozens of German agents into Britain to prepare for the invasion of the UK.

So Mr Liddell came up with the idea of passing on certain disinformation through double agents working in Germany.

This led the Germans to believe that British soldiers routinely painted one foot blue so they could be identified as being genuine.

The idea was that when the Germans parachuted their own agents into England with one foot painted blue the Home Guard would be able to identify them as spies and either arrest or shoot them on sight.

Guy Liddell was Britain's top spymaster during the war

The book also gives extraordinary details of the workings - and failings - of British intelligence during World War II.

Mr Liddell was Britain's top spymaster at the time and his wartime journals have been classified until very recently.

The Fifth Man

The book also suggests that the "unidentified man in the Cabinet Secretariat" was John Cairncross - the so-called Fifth Man of the Cambridge spy ring which also included Burgess, Maclean, Philby and Blunt.

Although a mole is identified in Liddell's diaries, it was not until 1951 that the security services identified him; and as recently as October 1990, John Cairncross was insisting to the BBC that he was not the Fifth Man.

As Director of B Division, Mr Liddell supervised all the major pre-war and wartime espionage investigations.

He was in charge of maintaining a watch on suspected Fifth Columnists.

As for the attempts to encourage Ireland to join the Allies, these were ultimately unsuccessful. The Republic remained neutral until the end of the war.

Mr West is perhaps better known as the former Conservative MP Rupert Allason.

How Malcolm X’s letters were saved

Dubbed America’s “angriest man”, his letters show a different side Posted by Hello

Excerpt: She had unwittingly packed up her father’s possessions - his letters, speeches, diaries - along with her own. She deposited much of her cargo in a storage facility.

Time passed, she defaulted on the payments and the storage facility owners did what they normally do in these circumstances: they sold off the contents. More from the BBC

Citizens proposing laws holding officials accountable to ethical standards and individuals complaining about corruption are harassed, threatened, arrested, and thrown in prison. Should that be ok with a governor, the head of the police, State’s Attorney Generals, and US Attorneys? Police Officer Charged With Sexual Assault Suspended

...

February 5, 2005By LARRY SMITH, Hartford Courant Staff Writer

EAST WINDSOR -- An East Windsor police officer has been placed on paid suspension after being arrested by Yale University police Thursday on charges of sexual assault and kidnapping.

Rafael Crespo Jr., 29, is charged with two counts each of first-degree kidnapping with a firearm and first-degree sexual assault. He is also charged with third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree threatening.

Lt. Mike Patten, a spokesman for the Yale University Police Department, declined to discuss the case - refusing to say when the crimes are alleged to have taken place or to give the gender of the victim. On Friday, Judge Richard Damiani ordered the warrant for Crespo's arrest sealed in Superior Court in New Haven, citing the law designed to protect the identity of sex crime victims.

Crespo, of East Hartford, has been with the East Windsor Police Department for about three years.East Windsor Police Chief Edward J. DeMarco Jr. said Friday that Crespo is suspended while Sgt. Michael Hannaford and Det. Matthew Carl conduct an internal investigation. He expects the inquiry to take about three weeks.

DeMarco said the incident is not alleged to have happened while Crespo was on duty, or in East Windsor. No other officer is under investigation, he added."This is an isolated incident that happened in [Yale's] jurisdiction," DeMarco said.

Yale police officers notified East Windsor police officials Thursday that an arrest warrant had been issued for Crespo, DeMarco said. Three Yale detectives showed up shortly before Crespo arrived for work and took him into custody, he added.Carl said East Windsor police did not help with the Yale investigation and were unaware of the charges until Thursday.

Before his arrest Thursday, Crespo had one blemish on his record with East Windsor police, Carl said. He was suspended for one day for insubordination when he did not follow a sergeant's order, he said.

Crespo was sworn in as an East Windsor officer in March 2002. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served as a member of the diplomatic security force. He served in Burundi, Malta and the Philippines.

He grew up in Camden, N.J. and his family moved to Hartford in 1992, where he joined the police department's explorers.

Crespo recently help start an Explorers troop in East Windsor, officials said.

Staff writer Kim Martineau contributed to this story.

Maybe the best purebred dog, period

Rico Posted by Hello

An 18 month old Standard Schnauzer, "Rico"

If you have questions or are looking into getting one of these wonderful dogs, please contact me at: stevengerickson@yahoo.com

Males average about 50 pounds and stand about 19 1/2 to 22 inches at the shoulder.

They come in black, pepper and salt, and salt and pepper.

Germans bred them from before recorded time, and are maybe the most common police dog, longstanding, in Germany, and are growing in popularity as a ‘working dog’ all over the world.

One of the smartest, nimble, trainable, dogs with unlimited energy, agile, usually lacking fear.

They can run along side your bike, horse, or jog with you, and usually won’t tire.

As far as watchdogs go, maybe there is not any dog superior.

Merchants from the horse and buggy, and mule driven carts would have this dog up, riding along side of them sitting at the front of the wagon, knowing that the dog would watch over their wagon and wares while they were in the nearest watering hole. Most of these dogs will look after you and your belongings without even being trained to do so.

I used to cut up raw chicken and feed him that. He can now handle a half chicken, raw, chewing bones and all, eats carrots whole, and other vegetables. I prefer that to store bought dog food as I suffer less dog gas attacks while watching television.

The example above can possibly read your mood and mind, as he knows when its time to play, to eat, go outside, go be quiet, or time for sleep.

Most large dogs, you train, they're a good dog, and then they die at age 7 to 9 or so.

Not so, with the schnauzer, as they have very few genetic problems, if any, and live to 20 to 22, full of vinegar.

He can jump higher than I stand, and didn't have to be trained to retrieve a thrown ball, he just did it from a very young puppy.

Rico, came to a local airport, sight unseen in a dog crate, and was a great friend within minutes of being let out of his travel crate. He was an active puppy, but is getting smarter and smarter, faster than other dogs I’ve had, from a much earlier age.

Their paws are catlike in that their claws retract, allowing them to corner on a dime and not catch their paws in carpets and on furniture. Very little shedding, smell, and their coats can be groomed to show dog quality without a lot of time or skill.

He is loyal, good company, and a pleasure to hang out with, more so, than most people I know ...

Rico, also seems to know who should be in the yard and who shouldn't.

I pity any fool coming into my house uninvited, but I have a mop and shovel handy just in case …
