When is enough, enough? Connecticut State Police misconduct is legendary. [post]
* * * *
The former Mayor of Norwalk, Connecticut, talks about police vandalizing his house, breaking beer bottles on his porch, and slapping police union stickers on his house. Bill Collins continues and talks about police abducting citizens while wearing ski masks to beat them at waterfront abandoned warehouses. Police have only gotten more brazen since. The courts are rubber stamps on abuse and retaliation.
It has taken me almost eight years to get ANY written publicity in these cases. (Steven Erickson did a video of me last October: YouTube.) The press no longer maintains "court reporters." The press and almost everybody else these days thinks It is perfectly OK for the sovereign (in this case Connecticut) to go around piling false, bogus and trumped-up charges upon its own citizens in an undisguised effort on the part of the judicial branch--in co-conspiracy with a corrupt law enforcement apparatus (in this case the New Haven Department "of Police Service")--to enhance the win/loss record of its corrupt and incompetent employees.
The State of Connecticut mistakenly thought Ct. v. Doriss was a "slam-dunk," that I would roll over like a bovozo and go for the sucker plea-bargain, known in legalese as "The Alford Doctrine." My father, William H. Doriss, Sr., d. 1965 of war-induced conditions, was an unsung WW II hero. He taught me better than that. The State thought it could come into court and charge me with four counts of "risk of injury to a minor" without introducing any hospital admissions reports, doctors' or psychologists' reports. The district attorney's office thought they could come into court, make completely false and malicious accusations--without making even a half-hearted attempt to back them up--and that that would be sufficient to carry the day in a corrupt Ct. courtroom.
It is worth pointing out that the plea-bargain in these cases was "five years, suspended after three." In other words, the State offered a fifty-eight year-old man five years of state supervision over what were clearly two dog accidents. Alternatively, were there other, subliminal, reasons for taking me to court? Were the dog-accident charges a PRETEXT for other reasons unmentioned and unannounced by the authorities? Why was I not charged under any of the numerous state statutes regarding the care and management of "dogs" in the state? Why did the State fall back on the much more punitive "cruelty to animals statutes," chapter 53?
Instead, I chose to go to the mat. I refused to plead guilty to a single charge when I knew that I had committed NO crime in these cases, and no serious crime in the state in my entire life,... NO PRIOR CRIMINAL RECORD.
I went through a full-blown criminal trial in New Haven Superior Court, chockablock full of due-process violations and rife with blatant violations of my "Constitutional rights." I beat 11 out of 13 charges the State threw at me, by consolidation, dismissal and jury verdict. The State naively thought that some of their Sh*t would stick. Instead, William H. Doriss, Jr. stuck it to them. The State lost Big Time.
I beat ALL of the serious charges, including NINE FELONY. (Where was the press?) The State's case was so weak, it suborned the perjured testimonies of five civilians and two police officers against me. The testimonies of two Spanish-speaking "victims" had to be translated for the Court. The male owner of the chihuahua unwittingly told a story which essentially agreed with my story and that of my sole witness, Sarah Ficca. The State tried to get him [Danny Valentin] to change his story, from the witness stand, a total of five times. Danny Valentin was simply too dumb to lie under oath in an Ameikan court of law.
The Spanish-speaking arresting officer in #502506, Andre Diaz, wrote an illegible police report in English. He testified that he was the one who arrested me, that he interviewed me and that he seized my dog Zeus. This was all a lie. I never saw Diaz that day. All of the above were accomplished by Offcr. Joseph Naccarato, badge #330. I told the Court this when John DelBarba asked me, "Who arrested you?"
The arresting officer is supposed to file the police report, and it is his job to present himself to the Court when requested to testify truthfully as to what he observed and what he believed to have transpired in any particular case.
The Court failed to call for Naccarato's presence to test my credibility. the Court is not interested in the truth, justice or fair play. The courts in Ct. simply want to incarcerate people and place them under state supervision for no other purpose than the keep the Prison-Industrial Complex busy and humming.
I WAS found guilty of two misdemeanors, which the judge conceded did NOT require "intent." Nonetheless, the angry and incompetent Judge Bernadette Conway sentenced me to 2 years prison and 3 years probation, for a total of five years of state supervision. She accused me of "putting the State to its test"! Clearly, I was given my "day in court." I beat all of the serious charges, but the outcome was almost exactly the same as the plea-bargain: Five Years of state supervision.
My real crime was NOT accepting the plea-bargain offered and forcing the State to expend "precious judicial resources" on a full-blown, Constitutionally protected jury trial by my peers.
What did I gain by beating the State in criminal court? I gained nothing. The system is rigged, incompetent, and--yes--corrupt. See D. R. Bennett's piece on corruption in last Sunday's Boston Globe. (Bennet is a clear thinker and a good writer.)
Although William H. Doriss REALLY won in #495971 and 502506, he ACTUALLY lost. Connecticut is a lawless land. It took an independent African journalist to investigate and expose the hypocrisies and lies of the Amerikan "judicial system." Shame, shame, shame on all of you. These sentiments were recently posted by me in The New Haven Independent (online).
Ct. v. Doriss, and now Doriss v. City of New Haven and State of Connecticut (federal court), are important because they show how easily the State can charge anyone with any crime, anywhere, any time--without functionable oversight or accountability--and get away with it in real time. My cases, in fact, prove this succinctly. These situations happen every day in Ct., and around the country, because the press is absent and the citizenry distracted by rampant consumerism, a false understanding of history and our proper role as a people on the world stage. We are in fact no better than a "third world" country when it comes to human rights violations, violations of due process and the protection of private property from the greedy hands of the sovereign. It took an independent African journalist from Cameroon, a man who paid his own heavy dues, to come to Amerika and point this out to us somnolent shee.
The details posted here and by Mr. Ndzana are only half the story. There are more interesting details and facets to these cases too tedious to relate at this time.
The U.S., at this time in history, is perpetuating a huge hypocrisy and hoax upon the peoples of the world. The Emperor wears no clothes.

Robert Lawlor's friends must be in overdrive to get support for him as the below post from 2006 is getting a lot of hits and comments. If a private citizen committed crimes, as I believe Lawlor did, like for example, a racist execution, there would already have been a "very public" trial.

The below is back posted, and was actually posted on the letter date. I wrote Bush 9-15-01 [letter text 9-15-01] and was attacked on my 3 and 5 Church St., Stafford Springs, Connecticut, properties on 10-11-01. Police and local elected officials were aware of the Bush letter the day I sent it as I gave copies to State Senator Tony Guglielmo. After sending the letter, 2 druggie felon thugs were trying to attack me at my properties in Somersville and in Stafford Springs. Why should I get prison for just defending myself on my own property when one caught me in my driveway coming home from work?

To: George W. Bush or to person(s) reading letters addressed to Bush
I used to own a small business and property. I took a stance against prostitution, vandalism, drug dealing, and the going bad of downtown youth over bad policies. I wrote a letter to you 9-15-01, and the response was that you actually read my letter regarding being under siege in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. Connecticut State Police then encouraged at least two druggie felons to attack me on my property where only I would be arrested. Should alleging public corruption practices in a letter to the president, be cause for a citizen be railroaded to prison to be held in the US as a political prisoner?
Bryan Oulette was assembling pipe and propane bombs in the basement of property I used to own at 3 Church St., Stafford Springs, CT 06076. He set off a device, that the end cap came off, just causing a huge flash, near a married couple, tenants, the Sabatassos (sp.?), and their 4 young children. Drug dealer, “Jaybone” Drice (sp.?), 19 at time, pulled a gun on me and chased me into my home in broad daylight because I said he couldn’t sell crack cocaine and heroin off my front lawn. Drug dealer and strong arm robber, Stephen Carver, was caught drunk, fighting, and smashing my windows after midnight by police and wasn’t arrested. He later almost beat Richie Dessert to death with a baseball bat. I named members of the ”Diaper Gang” who were beating citizens with bats, police weren’t interested in following up on the leads, and many more not mentioned above.
Prostitutes, Lana Thompson and Vicky Tamaro (sp.?), moved into apartments I was trying to rent, just changing the locks with no intention of paying rent. I contacted the Connecticut State Police about their trespassing, and was told I would be arrested if I interfered with drug dealing and prostitution. I contacted Rockville prosecutor Keith Courier about prostitute Lana Thompson, so Thompson put on a revealing dress that showed off her huge breasts and legs in high heals. Courier told me that if I brought any action against Thompson he would prosecute me. I assume he did this in exchange for oral sex provided to him by Thompson. Courier held true to his threat of prosecuting me.
I was told I was “kicked out of Connecticut” by Connecticut State Police. I thought it odd as I had fixed up boarded up property in downtown Connecticut spending years of hard labor and 100’s of thousands of dollars and police were aligning with prostitutes and drug dealers to ruin me financially and railroad me to prison, not protect and serve me. Married Police Informant, Barbara Sattel, was allegedly offered $10,000 in taxpayer dollars to sleep with me to set me up for a false arrest. Should tax dollars be used to ruin taxpayers so they no longer have contact with their families to be taken offline as a taxpayer?
Connecticut State Police allegedly offered Crack Cocaine addict, alcoholic, admittedly bi-polar, violent, prescription abuser, and frequenter of prostitutes, Peter Coukos, help in obtaining a permit to carry pistols, to assault me and terrorize me and my then 14 year old daughter out of Connecticut. I brought a tape of voicemails where Coukos threatened my life and even a message where he threatened to kill my 14 year old daughter if she did not address him as “Mr. Coukos” and say, “Hello” to him. Coukos punched me in the back of the head slapping me in my backyard telling me that he wanted my then 14 year old daughter to get on her knees and give him a “blowjob”. He called me a coward because I would not turn around. I would have been arrested again for being beaten up. Resident State Trooper said I would be arrested if I lodged a complaint against Coukos and if I didn’t leave Connecticut, as I was “kicked out of Connecticut”.
I was first arrested after dialing 911 after Peter Panciera, a powdered cocaine dealer, was so high on his own product, that he picked me up by my neck, beat the crap out of me, and then bit into my ear where I bled down to my underwear. (Stafford Springs, CT) Officer (Frank) Prochaska who had told me that I would be arrested if I proposed legislation to elected officials regarding youth and other crime that he would arrested me, arrested me for assault and breach of peace for being beaten up and being bit so bad that I was bleeding down to my underwear. He refused to arrest Panciera for biting and beating me. I refused to get a lawyer and beat that bogus rap. Should police pay informants to harm the public?
Brian Caldwell admitted to Judge Jonathan Kaplan that he had threatened my life while demanding money from me after he jumped me on my property when I came home from work. The judge, prosecutor, and state police had given Caldwell immunity for committing felonies to prosecute me for having defended myself with pepper spray on my own property. Attorney Michael H. Agranoff admitted throwing the case purposely.
Kaplan sentenced me to a year in prison, 3 years probation, even though the follow up police report called me the “victim” and I had no previous criminal record. Is this acting in the best interest of the public? Was I in any danger to the public or of, “re-offending”, by resisting being mugged in any future strong arm robbery attempts on me?
What would you think of someone punching you while telling you he wanted, your then 14 year old daughter, a “blowjob” in your backyard? How would you like it if you lost all of your property due to public corruption and the man who assaulted you, threatened your daughter’s life, and was known to break the law, now owned your property?
After writing letters from prison to my daughter and family marked “inmate”, I have almost no contact with them, had little work, no home, no health insurance, no credit, no retirement, and no hope. My close relationship with my daughter ended with my false imprisonment. I probably won’t walk her down the isle when she gets married, or maybe not even meet him, and she didn’t know I was taken away by ambulance, recently, after an accident. I worked hard, paid bills, and was an honest taxpayer, why should I have to worry about freezing to death in Winter living outside in the woods?
Should the above scenarios occur in America? If not, please do something.

Donald Christmas of the Thompsonville section of Enfield, Connecticut, met with me after I had gotten out of prison regarding suing police and Connecticut courts with a class action suit for violating our civil rights. I had told State Senator Tony Guglielmo that I intended on suing police just before they falsely arrested me and committed perjury at a rigged trial so I went to prison.
Enfield Police Officer Timothy Vergean allegedly had a 14 year old prostitute girlfriend that attacked Donny. Only Donny faced prison for being slapped around from behind and sworn at by the police officer's prostitute girlfriend. Vergean, allegedly left the scene of an accident, drunk, and is still a police officer. [more]

Peter Coukos now owns 3 and 5 Church St., Stafford Springs, Connecticut 06076. I had fixed [these properties] up from a boarded up condition spending 100's of thousands of dollars and years of my hard labor. Should any American be terrorized out of their own home, have their family broken up, and suffer permanent damage paid for with tax dollars?
The below is just one of the messages that Coukos left threatening me and my then 14 year old daughter. Coukos left a voicemail that he would make a false allegation that I threatened him with a gun if I didn't pay him $30,000. Coukos attacked me as I went to my vehicle in the back of 5 Church St., started punching me in the back of the head, slapping me, taunting me to turn around and face him. He was chanting, "I want your daughter to get on her knees and give me a blowjob!"
Connecticut State Police Officer, Stafford Resident Connecticut State Trooper Mulcahey, and Stafford Constable Frank Prochaska allegedly offered Coukos help in getting a gun permit to carry pistols in Connecticut, for assaulting me, and if was able to terrorize me out of Connecticut. Should I have faced arrest just for reporting this to police?:

I had a little “accident” and still piecing the events back together, and trying to understand the chain of events that lead me to an unwanted ambulance ride to the hospital. I don’t know if I blacked out from a blow I took to the back of my head, other injuries, or all of why an ambulance was called for me, when I was found lying on the ground, shaking, not able to immediately describe what had happened to me. I don’t suspect any foul play in this incident.
Lying in the hospital waiting to be x-rayed gave me time to think.
One mission, a feeling, I absolutely don’t want to die until accomplish a number of things. One is to do something about the evildoers in a domestic spy, covert-ops, drug running organization, the Connecticut State Police, [the infamous jackbooted thug video]. When town and city officers get involved in competition for dollars and power, partially fueled by the drug trade, the State Police see to it, they go after the competition. [post]
Believe it or not, I have friends in law enforcement that want some of the same things accomplished that I do. Some officers are Americans first, police officers, second.
A friend of mine was following criminals into the projects, doing some private investigation work, indirectly being funded by the state of Connecticut. A Connecticut State Police Officer pulled him over and immediately identified him as a retired police officer wanting to arrest him. Just how much information is available to an officer just trolling by that runs your license plate? Is there a system where a cruiser can just drive by cars and a camera on board the cruiser can relay information on any “flagged” names?
Ken Krayeske [post] was flagged by the Connecticut State Police and was arrested on sight by police in Connecticut. Ken ended up on the Connecticut State Police “Secret Enemies List” and was the former Green Party Campaign Manager for Connecticut Governor and a journalist. If you report the actual news in Connecticut you can be considered a subversive by authorities in Connecticut.
Private Investigators were once on the trail of former DCF head, Kristine Regaglia. Regaglia is alleged to have taken some of the same bribes and freebies in a conspiracy with organized crime to nationally franchise “Kiddie Max Prisons” for children. Former Connecticut Governor John G. Rowland [post] and others would receive kickbacks, and organized crime figures would receive federal and state tax dollars to build facilities, run, and supply them. I talk a little about this subject in [this video].
The Connecticut State Police corned the private investigators compiling evidence and the Connecticut State Police illegally seized the evidence and told the Private Investigator victims of their crimes that if they didn’t like it, they could be shipped off to Gitmo and police now have unlimited power after the signing of the Patriot Act. Yes, police in Connecticut can be that arrogant, especially the State Police.
I am going to redouble my efforts to get Connecticut legislators to review and have a special hearing regarding the abuse and spying on of the public by the Connecticut State Police. They should not be able to cover up crimes and go after citizens that blow the whistle on the rampant public corruption. When citizens end up in jail for trying to fix the problem and get the word out, they are being held as POLITICAL PRISONERS.
Ritt Goldstein [video] tried to educate the legislators on the Judiciary Committee at a special hearing held in Hartford where victims of police misconduct in the state of Connecticut and international experts on Civilian Oversight of Police met. Ritt was so terrorized by police in Connecticut that he fled the US to seek political asylum in Sweden after making [this video].
I will continue what Ritt Goldstein and others are doing, even at risk of life and personal injury. I will accomplish my goals before I die. Where Connecticut goes, the nation follows, just look at the precedent of Eminent Domain [video]. Stand up and act as an American or it might be too late for all of us.

Ken, I have seen you speak, and you seem to have an understanding of the "rubber stamp" people in the Judiciary Committee.
When judges are abusing citizens and breaking laws, you seem to stand almost alone.
I thank you for your stance and morality.
I would like to ask you to arrange a special session where witnesses can come forward about felonies, case rigging, and the defrauding of taxpayers going on inside the Judicial Branch. I believe there is also bid rigging, nepotism, retaliation, and Judges and Judicial managers can hire unqualified people, pay them for work not done or expenses not incurred.
I believe Deborah Blanchard and Senator Lawlor have slandered me and knowingly put out false information regarding me. Please review [this webpost] and forward it to Lawlor and Blanchard. I went to Connecticut elected officials to reform the Courts and make State Police accountable and respectful to those that pay the freight. Colonel Barry from the Connecticut State Police contacted me back and told me what I was allowed to propose to legislators regarding police. What!!!???
Contacting politicians and writing letters to the editor brought me immediate attention from the Connecticut State Police. I would often have two Connecticut State Police cruisers waiting near my driveway when I left my Connecticut home that I owned to drive to work.
Connecticut State Police Officers told me that I was kicked out of Connecticut, and that if I didn't leave ASAP from wherever I came from, I would be arrested. I also heard them say that "Big Mouth" was headed for prison even before they falsely arrested me.

A friend of mine is lobbying hard for the introduction of a "Sky Train" in the US.
It will be some sort of a hybrid, where it runs off of fuel cells, solar, the power grid, and/or some fossil fuel as a back up. Break reclamation will be used to charge the batteries to be about 40% more efficient in energy saving as compared to standard breaks just generating heat.
I have seen a video on a tour bus system that operates on a closed course outside the US on a closed track. The bus drives over a little hump, not even connecting with the bus and tops off the charge on the batteries requiring 75% less battery weight. It reminds me of the Bus train system in Disney World in Florida to get you from the parking lot to the park, which I assume is minus the newest developments.
I think the system should also be sold as an emergency evacuation plan for natural disasters to get additional funding.
Why shouldn't a system be built along existing highways and rail lines?
That way, while the new system is starting to get up and running, it will encourage use of alternate public transportation systems, getting all Americans. of various classes and descriptions, used to everyday use of public transportation to help save our American economy. We need an end the flood of dollars to countries that hate us, for a hopefully soon to be outdated, fuel source.
Commuters could park their cars, and get to the airport, standard bus or train stations to complete a national network where the network is truly meant to be available to all Americans, not meant to contain and prevent certain segments of the population access to areas normally exclusive to the White Elite in America.
By having a redundant system, the rail freight and passenger system could be updated, and used to easily supply the materials needed for the next generation of transport, a Sky Train. Coal is abundant in America and if scrubbers are installed to the stacks can be a much cheaper source of electric power for substation, as compared to using diesel and other types of energy generation.
Diesel trains are power generators, so I think the system should be backwards compatible to allow these locomotives to be able to power up a Sky Train substation in a pinch or as an alternative power source. Diesel locomotives could also be used to help power towns and cities hit by a natural, or other, disaster.
I have traveled outside the US and marveled and how clean, cheap, and available public transportation is in other countries. Although, I was very impressed with the systems already in place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and with their skyways for pedestrian traffic downtown.
I hope my friend will allow me to film him, so I can share what developments have been made and what is proposed for the future of public transportation in the US. I am forwarding this post to him.
I am talking about the mess the Bush and Cheney Klan have caused. If they weren't so busy enriching themselves, their friends, their families, while taking away American rights and freedoms, we would have a balanced budget cheaper gas, and an economy that isn't in ruins. Bush Co. may have sunk the nation beyond repair, or it might take a century or so to fix all the economic damage along with our sullied American worldwide image.
More than 100 insurgents breached a US outpost in north-eastern Afghanistan on Sunday, killing nine US troops in hours of fierce fighting, Nato says. [BBC]
The militants used rocket propelled grenades and homemade mortars to bombard the base, close to Pakistan's border, from several sides.
The attack caused one of the single worst losses of life for foreign troops since operations began in 2001.
It came as international and Afghan forces fought militants in many areas.
One soldier from the US-led coalition was also killed by a bomb in the southern province of Helmand.
On Sunday, US forces said 40 insurgents had been killed in Helmand province in 24 hours. There was no independent confirmation of the report.
Kunar has seen some of the fiercest fighting of the conflict
Also on Sunday, at least six Afghan security guards escorting a Nato supply convoy were killed in a roadside bombing in Helmand's Gereshk district, according to police.
The nine US soldiers were killed in several hours of fierce fighting at the outpost at Wanat, a mountain village in Kunar province, according to a statement from Nato's International Security Assistance Force (Isaf).
Insurgents pounded the Afghan army and Nato base - which had reportedly only been fully constructed days earlier - with rockets, mortars and machine guns, before breaching the compound and attacking the soldiers from inside.
Isaf and Afghan National Army forces responded with small arms, machine guns, mortars and artillery, before deploying fighter jets and apache helicopters, the statement said.
A further 15 Isaf soldiers were wounded along with four Afghan troops, the statement added.
"It was a complex attack, well organised and planned," said Isaf spokesman Captain Michael Finney.
Mark Laity describes the 'very severe' fighting that took place.
"It was clear they wanted to overrun the combat outpost. They chose their positions well. It wasn't just an attempt to rush the gate."
There may also have been civilian casualties in the rugged area on the border with Kunar and Nuristan province, according to Afghan officials.
Nato says the rebels suffered heavy casualties. It did not name the attackers but there has been a sharp increase in Taleban attacks in the country, and in that region in particular, although other rebel groups are also known to operate there.
The BBC's Martin Patience in Kabul says Afghanistan's north-eastern border with Pakistan is a well-known trouble spot.
'Wedding procession' attacked
The fighting is close to where US forces were accused of killing 47 civilians in an air strike in Nangarhar province a week ago.
The US military said they were militants.
In a separate incident on Sunday, a suicide bomber killed at least 21 people, many of them children, in a market in the Deh Rawud district of Uruzgan province in the south.
No group has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing.
According to the US military, the number of Taleban attacks in the east of the country has increased by 40% since last year.
More than 130 foreign soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan this year and recent weeks have seen a sharp rise in insurgency-related violence.
Hundreds more, including many militants and civilians, have also died in 2008.
Isaf currently has 53,000 troops from 40 countries. A separate, smaller US-led military force operates alongside it.

"Ron Paul July 12 DC" and the below came up as the number one listing. Disclaimer: I'm not an advocate for White Supremecy and think the July 12, Washington DC meet up is more about people upset with the George W. Bush Regime, who want the US Constitution restored, and yes, Ron Paul supporters. Never did I think it was ever a White Power, David Duke, and Don Black Issue.
The excerpt below is from the David Duke stormfront.org link [found here]:
Is Ron Paul the One?
by Charles Coughlin
Do patriotic White Americans finally have a candidate they can vote for without fear of being sold out again? The Bush family has proven itself the equivalent of political toxic waste. The Bush family supports Open Borders and sees nothing wrong with filling America up with Mexicans. Bush Junior’s occupation of Iraq has cost the Republicans control of Congress. Many Republicans would like to see a complete change of direction. Ron Paul has been consistently against the Iraq War and he also supports securing the Mexican border.
One right wing web site reports that Ron Paul went from relative obscurity to a double digit lead after the first Republican debate in an MSNBC online poll. Jim Capo reports “Now in 2007, Ron Paul comes along last week and gives by most accounts of honest grassroots Americans the best performance in the first televised debate between GOP presidential contenders. Exclusively broadcast by MSNBC, Ron Paul led MSNBC’s post election poll from start to finish with nearly a double digit margin over his nearest challenger Mitt Romney. An even more crushing defeat of the rest of the pack occurred in an ABC News poll which at first had been posted on-line with only nine names on it — Ron Paul’s being the one missing. Irate Paul supporters who complained in the poll’s comment section at first saw many of their posts ominously deleted — some no doubt for language, others for editorial discretion bordering on the c word (censorship). After someone posted in the comment’ thread the cell phone number of a Senior VP at ABC News, the Paul name was added to the poll.”
Admittedly the first Republican debate had a small audience. Most people have gotten sick of the “lock step” Republican support for the Iraq War and didn’t watch the debate assuming the candidates would be all the same. Most Americans didn’t know Ron Paul wants us out of Iraq. Still, it’s extremely significant that Ron Paul could jump ahead of the entire field based on a single performance. It also proves that the two biggest issues in 2007 are immigration and getting out of Iraq. Ron Paul is on the right side of both of these issues while the other Republicans (except for Tancredo on immigration) are falling short. If anyone can gain a great deal of momentum through the debate process, it’s Ron Paul.
Just a few weeks ago it looked as though we were going to be stuck with a liberal Republican in the form of Rudi Giuliani or Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. Romney is famous for changing positions on key issues like abortion while Giuliani is famous for changing wives. No true conservative Republican wants anything to do with these two east coast liberals.
Romney’s net worth is estimated at being in the hundreds of millions. No doubt he is part of the New England country club elite that includes the Bush family. Someone should carefully check his stand on gun control since these New England elite types tend to sell us out on that issue.
The 2007 election is especially important because Hillary Clinton or the stealth candidate Barack Obama could easily be running. The Republicans need a rock solid candidate who will get us out of the Iraq War and secure the Mexican border if they hope to win. Any “compromise candidate” who wants to continue the Iraq War indefinitely is NOT going to win the hearts of the American people.
There will be more debates ahead and if Ron Paul continues to win the hearts of ordinary conservatives, he will survive the early culling as Romney and Giuliani finally face a serious challenge. Americans want to see a populist candidate, who is right on the key issues, defeat a system-approved candidate like Romney who showed up with his giant bags of money or the ridiculously overrated Giuliani who was mayor of one of the most liberal cities in America.
Ron Paul’s campaign web site has his positions on various key issues clearly spelled out:
Debt and Taxes Working Americans like lower taxes. So do I. Lower taxes benefit all of us, creating jobs and allowing us to make more decisions for ourselves about our lives. (more…) American Independence and Sovereignty So called free trade deals and world governmental organizations like the International Criminal Court (ICC), NAFTA, GATT, WTO, and CAFTA are a threat to our independence as a nation. (more…)
War and Foreign Policy The war in Iraq was sold to us with false information. The area is more dangerous now than when we entered it. We destroyed a regime hated by our direct enemies, the jihadists, and created thousands of new recruits for them. (more…) Border Security and Immigration Reform The talk must stop. We must secure our borders now. A nation without secure borders is no nation at all. It makes no sense to fight terrorists abroad when our own front door is left unlocked. This is my six point plan: (more…) Privacy and Personal Liberty The biggest threat to your privacy is the government. We must drastically limit the ability of government to collect and store data regarding citizens’ personal matters. (more…)
Property Rights and Eminent Domain We must stop special interests from violating property rights and literally driving families from their homes, farms and ranches. (more…)

If I find my way down there, it won't be to support "White Rights", it will probably just to film what I see and maybe do some interviews. I am, however, interested in seeing the US Constitution restored.
Telephone companies were facing as many as 40 lawsuits
The US senate has passed a bill to shield telephone companies who helped in the White House's controversial warrantless wiretaps programme.
The bill also grants the US government the power to continue with the telephone surveillance scheme.
The Bush administration faced criticism when details emerged of its programme to monitor the phone calls of foreign targets in the US without warrants.
Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama voted in favour of the measure.
His decision to back the bill drew criticism from some of his supporters, who pointed to past statements in which Mr Obama had pledged to block any bill which granted immunity to telecommunication companies.
"I wouldn't have drafted the legislation like this," said Mr Obama, in a statement on his website.
However, he added, "in a dangerous world, government must have the authority to collect the intelligence we need to protect the American people".
President Bush welcomed the Senate's decision to pass the bill, saying he would be signing it into law shortly.
The bill was passed in the House of Representatives with bipartisan support last month, after House Democrats reached a compromise with the Republicans over the provisions to grant telecommunications companies immunity from prosecution.
Telephone companies were facing as many as 40 lawsuits for their involvement in the scheme.
Previous attempts to pass the bill - and allow the warrantless wiretap scheme to continue - had foundered on the issue of immunity for telecom firms.
Democrats had been reluctant to grant the firms immunity, saying the courts should first determine what the companies did.
President Bush - backed by Republicans in Congress - wanted to ensure that firms which had helped his administration would not be liable for prosecution.
The two sides reached a compromise, whereby telephone companies would not be automatically immune, but courts would be obliged to dismiss a suit against a firm if it is able to produce written certification that the White House had asked it to participate in the programme and had assured the firm it was legal.

Excerpt: One obvious law under which these people could be put on trial is the US War Crimes Act of 1996, which makes it a federal crime to commit a "grave breach" of the Geneva Conventions. Elizabeth Holtzman covered this issue in the Nation in 2005:
A grave breach, as defined by the Geneva Conventions, includes the deliberate "killing, torture or inhuman treatment" of detainees. Violations of the War Crimes Act that result in death carry the death penalty. [more]
The group, calling itself the Presidential Memorial Committee of San Francisco, wants the issue voted on at this November's election.
"It's important to remember our leaders in the right historical context," said petition organiser Brian McConnell.
The Republican Party thinks the plan stinks, and it will fight the measure.
Mr McConnell's group has submitted more than 12,000 signatures on a petition to the San Francisco Department of Elections.
If at least 7,168 of those signatures are found to be valid, the question of whether to rename Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant after the outgoing president will be added to the ballot papers in November.
"In President Bush's case, we think that we will be cleaning up a substantial mess for the next 10 or 20 years," said Mr McConnell.
"The sewage treatment facility's job is to clean up a mess, so we think it's a fitting tribute."
But one Californian Republican, Patrick Dorinson, said the plan was "a horrible idea".
Oceanside could become Bush's Bay Area memorial
"This is why San Francisco is considered wacky," the former California Republican Party spokesman told the Associated Press.
"It makes me ashamed to be a San Franciscan if this is all they've got time to do."
And a city official stressed that Oceanside offered "extraordinary environmental benefits".
"That's not our understanding of what the authors of this initiative believe the current president has delivered," said Tony Winnicker of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.

Either all of us have rights in America, or none of us do.
Former CIA officer Ray McGovern states that he believes "a perfect storm seems to be gathering in late summer or early fall," when the Bush administration and allies in Israel will launch attacks against Iran.
This time it will be largely the Air Force's show, punctuated by missile and air strikes by the Navy. Israeli-American agreement has now been reached at the highest level; the armed forces planners, plotters and pilots are working out the details.
Emerging from a 90-minute White House meeting with President George W. Bush on June 4, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said the two leaders were of one mind:
"We reached agreement on the need to take care of the Iranian threat. I left with a lot less question marks [than] I had entered with regarding the means, the timetable restrictions, and American resoluteness to deal with the problem. George Bush understands the severity of the Iranian threat and the need to vanquish it, and intends to act on that matter before the end of his term in the White House."

Ever check out YouTube? Have a user name and password for it? Then Viacom's going to find out all about what you like to watch.
A federal judge ruled Tuesday that the online video-sharing Web site, owned by Google, has to turn over all its user logs to Viacom, the mega-corporation that owns MTV, Paramount Pictures, Comedy Central and VH1, among others.
Viacom sued Google last year, claiming that YouTube willfully infringed its copyrights by letting its users post clips from "South Park" and "The Daily Show" willy-nilly.
YouTube, citing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, argues it doesn't have to take down those clips until Viacom complains about each and every one.
Viacom says that's bunk, and is joined in its lawsuit by the Premier League of England's Football Association, which doesn't like pro soccer highlights turning up on YouTube.
Judge Louis L. Stanton actually delivered a mixed ruling — he refused Viacom's demand that Google turn over YouTube's source code, the software that runs the site, agreeing with Google that that was a trade secret.
But he used Google's own argument, explained here on Google's own site, that revealing users' Internet Protocol addresses — which identify every single computer, server, cell phone or toaster connected to the Internet — does not constitute an invasion of privacy.
Google must now turn over all its data about YouTube visitors on four 1-terabyte hard drives, a staggering amount of data, as well as copies of all clips it has ever taken down. (One terabyte is 1,000 gigabytes.)
The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a San Francisco organization that defends the rights of Internet users, quickly protested the ruling, saying it "threatens to expose deeply private information about what videos are watched by YouTube users."
Viacom wants the data to prove that copyrighted "stolen" material is more popular among YouTube visitors than original "user-generated" material.
It sought the source code to show that YouTube does have software in place to filter out some objectionable content — for example, YouTube manages to keep pornography and explicit nudity off the site — but chooses to allow copyrighted material as part of its business model.
There is no indication Viacom will seek to track down individual users. It would have to contact users' Internet service providers — for example, Time Warner Cable, Verizon or America Online — to do so, and it's not clear if the ISPs would be compelled to turn over the data, especially in a civil case.
