"Waffle Boy" Obama?

Above photoshop image stolen [from here]

Why don't we the people demand a referendum regarding removing Barack Obama from office immediately using paper ballots? A popular vote to remove Obama would allow us to collectively say, "Obama, you're fired!".

Obama vs. Obama On Endless Wars: Who Wins? (VIDEO, POLL)

Obama

Back in early 2007, when the Bush administration was insisting that its military intervention in a faraway land was not open-ended, Senator Barack Obama wasn't buying it.

So the freshman from Illinois used then-secretary of state Condoleeza Rice's appearance before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee as an opportunity to raise some probing questions about the exit strategy from Iraq. Senator Obama was particularly skeptical about the administration's alleged "benchmarks" for success. He wanted to know exactly what they were -- and what would happen if they weren't met. And he wanted to know the answer to this question: "At what point do we say: 'Enough'?"

Three and a half years later, that's an excellent question for President Obama, about Afghanistan. But he doesn't have an answer.

In this video, Huffington Post Video Editor Ben Craw interweaves edited clips of Senator Obama questioning Rice about Iraq in January 2007 with comments President Obama has made about his own Afghan exit strategy in a speech in March 2009, an interview with CBS's "60 Minutes" in March 2009, an address to the nation in December 2009, remarks to the troops in Afghanistan in March, an interview with ABC in April, and an appearance on ABC's "The View" in July.

Who do you think gets the best of this exchange? Vote in our poll, below the video.

Using Google to complain about Google's (The Military Industrial Complex/CIA/Spy Internet 2) take over of the Internet and the "Free" World? Blogspot is Google. and so is youtube. So, one switch can be thrown to shut us all off. Or, we can individually be censored and/or blocked access.

Verizon and Google have announced that they hope to regulate the internet by controlling access and the speed of the internet to different websites. In other privacy news, Air France has announced that they will install cameras into every seat to watch their passengers; civil rights activists are crying foul saying it invades people's privacy too much.

A sign of America's "Planned Future"?:

Vernon C. Bain - Prison Barge

The Vernon C. Bain is a prison barge operated by the City of New York, and houses some 800 prisoners in a medium and maximum security facility. She was built in 1992 at a cost of $ 161 Million, which as usual, means it would have been cheaper to send the inmates to Harvard instead.

Since the jail is not permanently moored to the shore, Coast Guard regulations require that she have 3 maritime crew on board at all time, including a mate, an engineer and an oiler, which adds $ 650,000 per year to the costs.

The Vernon C. Bain has all the amenities, including a huge kitchen, law library, recreation rooms, and as seen here, a basketball court on the top deck.

Meet the new revolutionaries of the Do-It-Yourself cultures in Barcelona, Tallin and Jakarta. They are modern day heroes. They do not wait for political parties or institutions to change their world; they simply do it themselves, by creating new local currencies, by working in social networks or by simply robbing the banks and redistributing their money.

The world economy is in crisis and public trust in financial institutions has hit rock bottom. As commercial banks were bailed out with billions of taxpayers money and continued to practice their old vices, many people lost faith in bank managers and politicians. They got angry at the speculative financial system that brings extreme wealth to a few and instability and unemployment to many.

Could this dissatisfaction lead to social change? Can we imagine viable alternatives? Backlight goes on a worldwide search, with sociologist Manuel Castells and philosopher Peter Sloterdijk.
