US Law Enforcement, Courts, and Government- TOO DISHONEST?

... also too incompetent, lazy, drunk, and stupid ...

Again, common working Americans are taking it in the ass. The same liars who lied us into Vietnam, are still lying for their corporate masters.

Image [found here]

Does the most recent oil spill in the Gulf Coast off the coasts of Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, and Florida, just offer more proof that the regulators, government, investigators, the courts, and elected officials just aren't doing their jobs, plain and simple?

Regulations that prevent this sort of catastrophe are in place in some of the most backward countries on the planet, and for some reason aren't in place in the US. An automatic shut off makes sense right? We have circuit breakers and fuses in all of our US homes right? If the US regulators are bought and paid for by the industry they're regulating, you'd expect the regulations and enforcement to be completely lax. Well, across the board, everything is lax when it comes to quality control and checks and balances having to do with anything that is funded with US tax dollars. Just look at the fiasco that is two wars of occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan. Trillions of dollars can't be accounted before. A citizen who repeatedly steals a candy bar from candy stores can get prison, why not the contractors, frauds, banksters, and their elected official friends getting prison for stealing millions, billions, and trillions of dollars?

Look at the banking scandal. The biggest takers of bribes, such as Connecticut US Senator Chris Dodd are still in their jobs after being bribed by the very industry they're supposedly regulating.

I have found out there is no one to lodge a legitimate complaint to about public corruption, police misconduct and brutality, and especially about judicial misconduct. Complain about any of that, and your name is put on a list, you're subject to false arrest and imprisonment. The police have a procedure called, "Arrest and Discredit". They'll leave scorched earth under a complaining citizen's feet. The plan is to make the citizen lose his, or her, family, credit, job, home, and everything they have ever worked for, just for having a "Big Mouth".

For complaining about a town hall clerk illegally pocketing taxpayer funds, the citizen who turns in the official criminal may find themselves on a "No Fly" list after being released from prison.

Response to Gulf Coast oil spill falls on many shoulders, causing concern

WASHINGTON -- The players include BP Plc, the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Minerals Management Service, and that's just for starters. But under a structure known as the incident command system, no single entity has overriding authority in confronting the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, a spokesman for the effort said Thursday.

"There's not one in charge over the other," Coast Guard Petty Officer Cory Mendenhall said. "It's being run by a unified command."

The approach, which dates back to the 1970s, is intended to promote coordination. But it's also prompting worries that no one government official is ultimately in charge.

In a statement Thursday, Rep. Jo Bonner, R-Mobile, said he is "concerned" that there does not appear to be a single point person overseeing the response effort.

"Even from the local level, this has been a frequent criticism of the situation to date, at least from mayors and others with whom I've spoken," Bonner said.

Mendenhall or another spokesperson for the response effort could not be reached later in the day for comment on Bonner's statement, but federal officials -- who have been criticized for responding too slowly-- took a more aggressive posture Thursday.

After the Obama administration designated the accident "a spill of national significance" -- meaning that more resources could be brought to bear -- Coast Guard Rear Adm. Mary Landry told reporters at a news briefing that "if BP does not request these resources, then I can, and I will."

The unified command system has pluses and minus, said Bruce Pasfield, a former environmental lawyer for the Justice Department, now in private practice in Washington, D.C. at the firm Alston & Bird LLP.

While it can mean that various officials have to come to "negotiated" decisions, he said, agencies may furnish resources more quickly if they are part of the command.

A potential wrinkle in the Gulf spill is the presence of BP, which, under a 1990 law known as the Oil Pollution Act, is the "responsible party" for paying cleanup costs.

Under that statute, the responsible party gets "every opportunity" to handle the cleanup on its own before the government jumps in, Pasfield said.

Ultimately, however, every disaster is a "first-time experience," said Steven Picou, a University of South Alabama sociology professor who has closely studied the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska. "You're going to have ineffective turns and ineffective decisions."

Wikileaks.org “Collateral Murder” has really stirred a controversy. Many people are now questioning what America is doing in two wars of occupation. Why are trillions being spent and why is so much not accounted for? If Americans are paying more than half of their taxes for wars, the military, and killing, should they be?

Should US Troops fight for lying, liars, out to rip off and kill all they can?

If the US had a viable justice and investigation system would the US have been lied into two wars of occupation?

Lantern Spike, Garden Plot, Palmer Raids, Martial Law

So, if it happened before, was planned for before, it isn't happening right now, right?

Excerpt:
Development

Rex-84 was written by Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, who was both the NSC White House Aide and NSC liason to FEMA, and John Brinkerhoff, the deputy director of "national preparedness" programs for FEMA. They patterned the plan on a 1970 report written by FEMA chief Louis Giuffrida, at the Army War College, which proposed the detention of up to 21 million "American Negroes", if there were a black militant uprising in the United States.[3]
[edit] Initial public reports

Rex 84 was mentioned during the Iran-Contra Hearings in 1987.[4][5]

Existence of a master military contingency plan, "Garden Plot" and a similar earlier exercise, "Lantern Spike" were originally revealed by journalist Ron Ridenhour, who summarized his findings in "Garden Plot and the New Action Army."[6]
[edit] Similar programs

Exercises similar to Rex 84 happen regularly.[7] Plans for roundups of large numbers of persons in the United States in times of crisis are constructed during periods of increased political repression such as the Palmer Raids and the McCarthy Era.

For example, from 1967 to 1971 the FBI kept a list of over 100,000 persons to be rounded up as subversive, dubbed the "ADEX" list.[8] This list contained many labor leaders, scholars, and public figures of the time.

In 2008, for the first time an active military unit has been given a dedicated assignment stateside for civil unrest containment. It is assigned to Northcom, a joint command established in 2002 to provide command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinate defense support of civil authorities.[9]

The basic facts about Rex 84 and other contingency planning readiness exercises—and the potential threat they pose to civil liberties if fully implemented in a real operation—are taken seriously by scholars and civil libertarians.[10]

Iran-Contra Affair

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search

The Iran-Contra Affair was the largest political scandal in the United States during the 1980s, considered by some to be one of the largest political scandals in history.[1] Large volumes of documents relating to the scandal were destroyed or withheld from investigators by Reagan Administration officials.[2] The affair is still shrouded with secrecy and it is very hard to discover the facts. It involved several members of the Reagan Administration who in 1986 helped sell arms to Iran, an avowed enemy, and used the proceeds to fund the Contras, an anti-communist guerrilla organization in Nicaragua. [3]

After the arms sales were revealed in November 1986, President Ronald Reagan appeared on national television and denied that they had occurred.[4] However, a week later, on November 13, he returned to the airwaves to affirm that weapons were indeed transferred to Iran. He denied that they were part of an exchange for hostages. [5]

America's Drug Crisis: Brought to You by the CIA

By Dave Lindorff 10-28-2009 (about the author)

opednews.com Permalink

Next time you see a junkie sprawled at the curb in the downtown of your nearest city, or read about someone who died of a heroin overdose, just imagine a big yellow sign posted next to him or her saying: “Your Federal Tax Dollars at Work.”

Kudos to the New York Times, and to reporters Dexter Filkins, Mark Mazzetti and James Risen, for their lead article today reporting that Ahmed Wali Karzai, brother of Afghanistan's stunningly corrupt President Hamid Karzai, a leading drug lord in the world's major opium-producing nation, has for eight years been on the CIA payroll.

Okay, the article was lacking much historical perspective (more on that later), and the dead hand of top editors was evident in the overly cautious tone (I loved the third paragraph, which stated that “The financial ties and close working relationship between the intelligence agency and Mr. Karzai raises significant questions about America's war strategy, which is currently under review at the White House.” Well, duh! It should be raising questions about why we are even in Afghanistan, about who should be going to jail at the CIA, and about how can the government explain this to the over 1000 soldiers and Marines who have died supposedly helping to build a new Afghanistan). But that said, the newspaper that helped cheerlead us into the pointless and criminal Iraq invasion in 2003, and that prevented journalist Risen from running his exposé of the Bush/Cheney administration's massive warrantless National Security Agency electronic spying operation until after the 2004 presidential election, this time gave a critically important story full timely play, and even, appropriately, included a teaser in the same front-page story about October being the most deadly month yet for the US in Afghanistan.

What the article didn't mention at all is that there is a clear historical pattern here. During the Vietnam War, the CIA, and its Air America airline front-company, were neck deep in the Southeast Asian heroin trade. At the time, it was Southeast Asia, not Afghanistan, that was the leading producer and exporter of opium, mostly to the US, where there was a resulting heroin epidemic.

A decade later, in the 1980s, during the Reagan administration, as the late investigative journalist Gary Webb so brilliantly documented first in a series titled “Dark Alliance” in the San Jose Mercury newspaper, and later in a book by that same name, the CIA was deeply involved in the development of and smuggling of cocaine into the US, which was soon engulfed in a crack cocaine epidemic—one that continues to destroy African American and other poor communities across the country. (The Times' role here was sordid—it and other leading papers, including the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times—did despicable hit pieces on Webb shamelessly trashing his work and his career, and ultimately driving him to suicide, though his facts have held up.) In this case, Webb showed that the Agency was actually using the drugs as a way to fund arms, which it could use its own planes to ferry down to the Contra forces it was backing to subvert the Sandinista government in Nicaragua at a time Congress had barred the US from supporting the Contras.

And now we have Afghanistan, once a sleepy backwater of the world with little connection to drugs (the Taliban, before their overthrow by US forces in 20001, had, according to the UN, virtually eliminated opium production there), but now responsible for as much as 80 percent of the world's opium production—this at a time that the US effectively finances and runs the place, with an occupying army that, together with Afghan government forces that it controls, outnumbers the Taliban 12-1 according to a recent AP story.

The real story here is that where the US goes, the drug trade soon follows, and the leading role in developing and nurturing that trade appears to be played by the Central Intelligence Agency.

Your tax dollars at work.

The issue at this point should not be how many troops the US should add to its total in Afghanistan. It shouldn't even be over whether the US should up the ante or scale back to a more limited goal of hunting terrorists. It should be about how quickly the US can extricate its forces from Afghanistan, how soon the Congress can start hearings into corruption and drug pushing by the CIA, and how soon the Attorney General's office will begin a grand jury probe into the CIA's drug dealing.

Americans, who for years have supported a stupid, blundering and ineffective “War on Drugs” in this country, and who mindlessly back “zero-tolerance” policies towards drugs in schools and on the job, should demand a “zero-tolerance” policy toward drugs and dealing with drug pushers in government and foreign policy, including the CIA.

For years we have been fed the story that the Taliban are being financed by their taxes on opium farmers. That may be partly true, but recently we've been learning that it's not the real story. Taliban forces in Afghanistan, it turns out, have been heavily subsidized by protection money paid to them by civilian aid organizations, including even American government-funded aid programs, and even, reportedly, by the military forces of some of America's NATO allies (there is currently a scandal in Italy concerning such payments by Italian forces). But beyond that, the opium industry, far from being controlled by the Taliban, has been, to a great extent, controlled by the very warlords with which the US has allied itself, and, as the Times now reports, by Ahmed Wali Karzai, the president's own brother.

Karzai, we are also told by Filkins, Mazzetti and Risen, was a key player in producing hundreds of thousands of fraudulent ballots for his brother's election theft earlier this year. Left unsaid is whether the CIA might have played a role in that scam too. In a country where finding printing presses is sure to be difficult, and where transporting bales of counterfeit ballots is risky, you have to wonder whether an agency like the CIA, which has ready access to printers and to helicopters, might have had a hand in keeping its assets in control in Kabul.

Sure that's idle speculation on my part, but when you learn that America's spook agency has been keeping not just Karzai, but lots of other unsavory Afghani warlords, on its payroll, such speculation is only logical.

The real attitude of the CIA here was best illustrated by an anonymous quote in the Filkins, Mazzetti and Risen piece, where a “former CIA officer with experience in Afghanistan,” explaining the agency's backing of Karzai, said, “Virtually every significant Afghan figure has had brushes with the drug trade. If you are looking for Mother Teresa, she doesn't live in Afghanistan.”

“The end justifies the means” is America's foreign policy and military motto, clearly.

The Times article exposing the CIA link to Afghanistan's drug-kingpin presidential brother should be the last straw for Americans. President Obama's “necessary” war in Afghanistan is nothing but a sick joke.

The opium, and resulting heroin, that is flooding into Europe and America thanks to the CIA's active support of the industry and its owners in Afghanistan are doing far more grave damage to our societies than any turbaned terrorists armed with suicide bomb vests could hope to inflict.

The Afghanistan War has to be ended now.

Let the prosecution of America's government drug pushers begin.

Former CIA Spy Andrew Warren Arrested in Hotel With Drug Paraphernalia, Handgun

Ex-CIA Star Accused of Raping Drugged Muslim Women and Making Sex Tapes

A former rising star at the CIA accused of drugging, raping and taping Muslim women while stationed in the Middle East appeared before a federal judge in Virginia today after skipping a pre-trial hearing more than a week ago and going on what sources called an apparent drug binge. Andrew Warren was arrested after an intensive search by federal officials concerned he might be a danger to himself.

A U.S. government employee in Algeria allegedly drugged victims.

According to two federal law enforcement sources, drug paraphernalia and a handgun were found in the Virginia motel room where Warren, former CIA chief of station in Algeria, was arrested. Warren sat in a wheelchair during his Monday afternoon court appearance.

A person close to Warren told ABC News that State Department officials began searching for Warren 11 days ago after he missed a routine pre-trial appearance and could not be found. "His phones were shut off, and none of his family or friends had heard from him," the person told ABC News.

"Hanging: it concentrates the mind wonderfully"

Excerpt from www.thisdayinquotes.com:

September 18, 2009

SEPTEMBER 19 - Hanging: it concentrates the mind wonderfully

British lawyer and diarist James Boswell recorded many witticisms by Samuel Johnson in his journal. They ended up in Boswell’s noted biography of the great lexicographer and author, Life of Johnson (1791).

One of the most quoted Johnson quips is in Boswell’s entry for September 19, 1777. It was this bit of gallows humor:

"When a man knows he is to be hanged...it concentrates his mind wonderfully."

Johnson said this about an Anglican clergyman named William Dodd, who was executed by hanging at England’s Tyburn prison on June 27, 1777.

Dodd’s crime was a loan scam.

He had asked a money lender for a sizeable loan that he claimed was for his former student, the 5th Earl of Chesterfield. That young gent was son of the 4th Earl of Chesterfield, Philip Dormer Stanhope, known for those famous letters to his son that included platitudes like: “Take care of the minutes: for the hours will take care of themselves.”

Dodd pocketed the loan money and, when it wasn’t repaid, his scam was revealed. He was tried and sentenced to death. But some people, including Samuel Johnson, thought that seemed a bit harsh.

So, Johnson tried to help by penning an eloquent, Bible-quoting plea for mercy that was released publicly – under Dodd’s name – in an effort to persuade the court to let him live.

It didn’t work. Dodd was hung anyway, alongside another criminal named Joseph Harris.

But the entreaty Johnson had ghost written was soon published with the title The Convict’s Address to His Unhappy Brethren. It was initially credited to Dodd and it became quite popular.

In his journal entry for September 19, 1777, Boswell noted that a friend of Johnson’s told the great man he suspected Dodd didn’t write the piece himself, because it was so good.

“Why should you think so?” responded Johnson. “Depend upon it, Sir, when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully.”

Johnson’s authorship was eventually revealed and The Convict’s Address is now generally – and properly – credited to him. [more from source]

I wonder if the above mentioned "Dodd" is related to Connecticut US Senator Chris Dodd on the banking committee who has taken bribes from banksters and is still regulating banks! If there was justice in America, Dodd would have been tried for treason and would be swinging from a Charter Oak type tree. This blogger's thoughts on Dodd:

Text with video:
MrSlappyCard March 18, 2010More info: http://starkravingviking.blogspot.com...

Millions are being paid out to bank regulators in bonuses. So, who isnt being bribed that isnt responsible for the worldwide banking crisis? Why are the Foxes in charge of guarding the Hen-house?

Connecticut US Senator Chris Dodd has been caught taking maybe a million dollars, or more, from those hes supposed to be regulating as ranking member of the Banking Committee.

I am no New World Order conspiracy theorist, but Dodd is known to be a Bilderberg member.

Dodds legacy is that he made himself and his friends rich. He did so at the expense of average people worldwide.

On his way out, Dodd might do the most damage he can to the worldwide economy. Dodd proposes that 500 billion of taxpayer dollars be used to start a brand new all powerful financial regulating agency. It has no oversight, and there is no control of the agency by the Senate, Congress, or the US President. In other words, the people, in black and white, have no representation for their taxation. If trends continue those getting the regulator jobs will have paid the largest bribes and are, or have been, the biggest perpetrators in worldwide corporate and banking fraud.

Connecticut is the Wild West of obeying any laws and doing any kind of honest investigations. Just look into Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthals dirty deals and awarding millions to former law partners in no-bid contracts. Many of the richest banksters, Big Pharma executives, Bio-Weapons company owners, war corporation, insurance, and other corporate complete assholes live in Connecticut.

Has Chris Dodd done more financial damage to the world than the aftermath of 9-11 or any serial killer? If a citizen who steals a candy bar more than once can get prison, why shouldnt Dodd get prison for allowing banksters to steal trillions? Dodd took bribes from Bank of America, Countrywide Home Loan, and others. Why is Dodd still on the Banking Committee? If a clerk at a candy store allows merchandise from the store, and profits from it to be stole, he, or she, is fired, arrested, handcuffed, processed, wrapped in chains and leg irons, locked up to await trial. Dodd has done something more than one million times more serious, why is he not in prison instead of getting a cushy retirement AND a huge pay out from organized corporate banking criminals?

If you love liberty and honest government anywhere in the world, DEMAND THAT DODD BE ARRESTED, HANDCUFFED, AND MADE TO STAND TRIAL.

Father of 5, Cat Killer

Image [found here]

Unrelated to story, image [found here]. Blog has other cute, little furry creature, and animal photos

Gregory W. Lesco, an allegedly married man, father of five children, faces prison, according to a Hartford Courant piece [found here]. Scroll down in post

There are trillions of tax dollars unaccounted for. Contractors for the US Government are charging us $25/meal for soldiers, $500 per week for washers and dryers, and billions in no-bid contracts for what is the fiasco of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars of occupation. Millions of non-whites have been killed in such US wars. Rape, murder, theft, torture, illegal detention, and war crimes are the daily ritual. So, what is a major news story in a State, such as Connecticut?

In this climate should the rarity, an intact family, be a target over a dead cat. Mr. Lesco tried to dislodge a pet bird from the family cat's mouth. The cat was then injured. Mr. Lesco allegedly humanely took the cat's life in the shed, telling his children the cat had run away. Who in their right mind would find it compelling to "inform" authorities about this "crime"? I'm an not saying what Mr. Lesco did was honorable, but I do think it is "understandable". Mr. Lesco is not a danger to his family, or to the public. The processing in court, the embarrassment, financial ruin, and pending break-up of the family is far more worse punishment than would be equitable for the alleged "crime".

Big Brother, truly has many helpers.

In Connecticut the judiciary is at least double the size it is supposed to be. It has illegally enriched its members, and "preferred" contractors. There are so many state workers hired at 6 figure incomes, who know someone, or who are completely unqualified, whose job it is, to take away children, process, abuse, fine, and confine people. There is shrinking manufacturing and businesses producing products in the US, so government work abusing the populace is a growth industry. If the dollar does fall in the US, the number one culprit would be the kangaroo courts and the thuggery that passes for policing.

There are no checks and balances. There is no real representation for our taxation.

Silence, and inaction, signifies acceptance.

When the head of police is notified of police misconduct, brutality, racketeering, and obstruction of justice, with police officers being the perps, what is done? When top investigators are notified of rigged courts, what is done. The answer is nothing.

The State of Connecticut is the best example of what is wrong with the entire country.

If only Nerds ruled the world

Image [found here]

I entirely love anything I have seen on the Corbett Report. I have posted their videos before. I saw the one, below, on the Kenny's Sideshow blog [here]. I am not saying Mr. Corbett is a nerd, I am just saying I enjoy what he has to say, regardless. I would trust his word above anything I hear from Obama, the mainstream media, or some idiot blogging ...

More and more cops are on the criminal side, rampaging

Former Minneapolis, Minnesota, Police Officer Timothy Carson

Minneapolis cop charged with bank robbery

Police sources familiar with the investigation say Timothy Edward Carson could be connected to at least a dozen robberies in the metro area over the past two weeks.

Last update: January 7, 2010 - 9:44 PM

Minneapolis police officer Timothy Edward Carson's shift on Wednesday started at 9 a.m. But he wasn't there.

By the time he told a supervisor he was running late at 9:30, the FBI says, Carson had robbed an Apple Valley bank and was well on his way to getting caught.

Carson, 28, was arrested early Thursday and appeared in federal court Thursday afternoon, charged with bank robbery. More criminal charges are expected to follow; police sources familiar with the investigation say he could be connected to at least a dozen robberies in the metro area over the past two weeks.

"The bottom line with police work is ethics and trust and respect. He blew every one of them," said Lt. John Delmonico, president of the Minneapolis Police Federation, of which Carson is a member. "Good luck to him in jail."

The criminal complaint outlining the bank robbery charge against Carson shows that the trail of clues leading to his arrest began minutes before he allegedly robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on Pilot Knob Road.

At 8:37 a.m., Apple Valley police officer Kurt Schultz pulled over Carson's white Mitsubishi Galant because it lacked a front license plate. Carson identified himself as a Minneapolis police officer and was allowed to go on his way.

At 9:17 a.m., Schultz was called to the bank on the robbery report. A minute earlier, a man in a black jacket and ski mask had robbed the bank. Armed with a handgun, he had ordered the tellers to give him money, which he put in a backpack, before fleeing to a light-colored vehicle parked outside.

En route to the bank, Schultz saw Carson's car headed north near the bank at 9:22 a.m.

"That was the break in the case," said Apple Valley Police Chief Scott Johnson.

Minneapolis police say Carson arrived for work at 10 a.m.

Remembering That The Oklahoma City Bombing Was A False Flag

April 19, 1995 was truly a day of infamy. As with so many of the false flags of history, justice has not been served.

Bill Clinton had the first World Trade Center bombing, Muslim group blame, and then the OK City Murrah building bombing, blamed on "lone nut" terrorist Tim McVeigh and the patriot movement. Getting by with these set the stage for the Bush Administration 9/11 false flag.

Remember getting rid of all the evidence in Oklahoma City so as to spare the victims families pain? Just like 9/11.

Obama, being so infiltrated with Clinton 'pros', is ripe for giving us the next big one.

The outsourcing for the next false flag has probably begun. Israel comes to mind first and they will have help.

History always repeats.

Kick-ass Controversy

A 'Kick-Ass' Controversy? Cast And Creators Weigh In On The Film's Violent Content

Posted 4/16/10 12:44 pm ET by Rick Marshall in News, Video

It should come as no surprise to anyone who's read "Kick-Ass" that, well... there's a lot of ass-kicking going on in director Matthew Vaughn's adaptation of the hit comic book series by John Romita Jr. and Mark Millar.

Still, the early hype for the film has generated some controversy around the movie world, with some wondering whether the violence in the film is simply too much — especially given that much of the carnage is caused by a 12-year-old girl. Chloe Moretz, who's since reached the ripe old age of 13, plays the aforementioned pre-teen assassin Hit-Girl.

When MTV News caught up with the stars of "Kick-Ass" during this week's L.A. premiere, we asked them about the violence and the controversy surrounding the film.

"First of all, it's less [violent] than it was in the comic," Romita told MTV News. "The comic was more intense. But I think it's got a purpose — to show what this little girl and what the father are." Read more...
