American Hustle movie review

Amy Adams, pictured above, and Jennifer Lawrence strut their stuff and show some skin in the newly released American Hustle. [The picture above, and below, originally found here].

I liked the picture for reasons other than looking at some women most men consider hot.

We are still amidst the Edward Snowden NSA Spying Scandal. Back in the 1970's the FBI was stinging US politicians using plants posing as Middle Eastern, or Arab, investors bribed elected officials on hidden cameras. Pretty much, any politician, who was asked to come collect what is a bribe, did. So, if [Abscam] was continued, almost no elected officials would have been left in office as almost all of them are willing to, or are, taking bribes.

When someone is under surveillance, they can be charged with crimes. When under a magnifying glass anyone can be prosecuted for their daily activities, or set up to take a fall. When the watchers obey no rules, none of us are safe.

If we are all being watched 24/7 and every conversation is being recorded and stored, spooks can go back in time to find dirt on any of us. You own nothing, you have no family or community unity, you have no privacy, and someone in some dark backroom on a laptop decides whether you are allowed to have a job, drive a car, own a home, have a significant other, and/or even if you are allowed to keep in contact with your own children.

The movie shows how investigators break rules to get their prey. Who are the bigger criminals?

[Huffington Post: What American Hustle Doesn't tell you about ABSCAM]

Excerpt [originally found here]:

Jennifer Lawrence: sexy and big haired

We all wondered what was going on back in April when Bradley Cooper was pictured strutting about a movie set with the tightest curls since Justin Timberlake in his N*Sync days.
And now we know - it's for his new role in American Hustle. And today, we get the first look at the perm in action - and it's amazing.

The film stars Jennifer Lawrence too, and let's just say that her first film with Bradley since the Oscar winning film Silver Linings Playbook, and let's just say it's very different.
Jen strips off to her underwear in the film, set in the seventies, and she looks really, really hot. It must be all those fur coats.

She co-stars with Amy Adams , who ALSO takes off all her clothes - she plays Christian Bale's mistress, while Jen's her love rival - his wife.
The movie's already said to be an Oscar contender - it's packed with A-Listers too. Jeremy Renner , Jack Houston, Robert De Niro and comedian Louis C.K are all in there too. It's based on Jersey gangsters and crooked FBI agents in the 70s and 80s, which means it'll be wall to wall polyester suits and big hair.
