Obama would not just meet with George H. W. Bush and Jeb Bush in an unscheduled meeting to socialize. Shit is up. The CIA Grand Klan Master wanted to put the world elite's orders directly in Obama's ear, not over any electronic conveyance, probably no tongue intended, or maybe there was. Just my opinion, they are all a bunch of sick fucks to be doing what they are doing, and lying so frequently. We are ants to them, expect them to treat us as such.

Obama hosts George H.W. and Jeb Bush at White House

Unbeknownst to the press, President Obama met Friday evening with former president George H.W. Bush and his son, former Florida governor Jeb Bush, in the Oval Office.

White House officials did not list the meeting on the president's schedule but released a photo on Flickr. According to the photo's time stamp, the meeting occurred shortly after 5 p.m., about the time the president returned to the White House from a fundraiser.

When asked what the men discussed and why it wasn't on the schedule, the White House released a statement saying, “The three men enjoyed a personal visit in the Oval Office – as they have done on previous occasions when President Bush is Washington.”

The Bushes are in town to attend the exclusive Alfalfa Club dinner Saturday, an annual get-together for Washington power brokers that Obama also is scheduled to attend, according to the Associated Press.

The meeting came at an interesting time politically, just one day after Obama, in an interview with ABC News, blamed predecessor George W. Bush for policies that brought on the greatest recession since the Great Depression. He also blamed him for initiating the expansion of food stamp rolls.

Jeb Bush has also played a critical role in the GOP presidential primary contest in Florida -- primarily by saying he wouldn't play a role. His endorsement would have been key in the race, currently neck and neck between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, but Jeb Bush said last week that he would remain neutral.

Far from a conclusive victory, however, the death of SOPA and PIPA only highlight the latest in a series of measures that are seeking to create a legal framework for government-administered Internet censorship. When legislators in the US abandoned their support of SOPA and PIPA in the wake of mass popular protest earlier this month, many of those who had been mobilized by the legislation–which would have granted the US government almost total power to block access to foreign websites accused of so much as linking to copyrighted material–did not have long to enjoy their “victory.” The very next day the New Zealand police swooped in to the million-dollar estate of MegaUpload.com founder Kim Dotcom, arresting him and three others at the US government’s request for alleged racketeering, copyright infringement and money laundering. The Department of Justice is now seeking the MegaUpload CEO’s extradition to the US.

Some amongst those who had been campaigning against SOPA and PIPA did not know that the US government already had the authority to shut down entire websites and in fact has exercised that authority on numerous occasions. What many are now learning is that, far from some potential future threat, internet censorship already exists in a variety of legislation that is already on the books in the United States and in nations around the world.

Although most commonly associated with China, which has implemented strict internet filters that prevent its citizens from finding politically sensitive material, various internet censorship programs have already been implemented by countries around the globe.

In 2010, Japan passed amendments to its copyright law making it illegal to download copyrighted material. The move has yet to curtail file-sharing in the country, so the Japanese government recently announced that they are going to begin putting fake copies of popular tv dramas on file-sharing websites that, when opened, remind users that it is illegal to download such material.

In July of 2010, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement seized the domains of 8 websites that it accused of hosting illegal copies of copyrighted material as part of an investigation dubbed Operation In Our Sites. The seizures came before any trial took place, and six of the websites did not actually host any of the copyrighted material in question, only linking to it. That November, ICE acted once again, this time seizing 82 domains. In December of 2011, over one year later, the agency returned one of the domains, Dajaz1.com, to its owner, after admitting that it had not in fact breached any laws.

In May of last year, the US Justice Department began seeking the extradition of one of the website’s operators, Richard O’Dwyer, from the UK. O’Dwyer is a British citizen who established TVShack.net in December of 2007. The DOJ is hoping to bring O’Dwyer to the US under the Extradition Act of 2003 to face charges of copyright infringement in the Southern District of New York.

Late last year, a number of nations signed a new global copyright agreement known as the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement or ACTA. Signatories include the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and, as of this past week, 22 member states of the European Union.

Purported to be a treaty against counterfeit goods, generic drugs and copyright, it threatens to fundamentally alter the internet as it has so far existed.

When the Polish government announced its intention to sign earlier this month, protests sprang up around the country.

While the public is only beginning to understand the implications of ACTA, which has already been signed by a number of countries, others are pointing to these types of agreements as only the thin edge of the wedge for the implementation of outright totalitarian control over the internet as a whole. Indeed, perhaps even more worrying than the existing legislation and agreements for internet censorship are the numerous proposals for even more restrictive measures that have been made time and again by political leaders in a variety of contexts.

In October of 2008, the Labor government in Australia proposed a mandatory filter for the entire Australian internet. The proposal, dubbed “Clean Feed” would ostensibly block any content deemed to break Australia’s media regulations. When a list of the websites supposed to be banned under the scheme was released in early 2009, it included the websites of numerous innocuous Australian businesses, as well as overtly political websites that had no illegal or offending material. The current government has said they would not vote for any such legislation, and the proposal would be unlikely to reach parliament until 2013.

In 2010 the UK passed the Digital Economy Act, which theoretically allows for the UK government to ban copyright violators from the Internet. In August of 2011, parts of the legislation proposing the blocking of sites believed to be linking to copyrighted material was declared to be unenforceable and were dropped from the legislation.

In March of 2009, Senator Jay Rockefeller opined during a subcommittee hearing that the internet is proving to be such a threat to America’s national security that it would have been better if it had never existed.

In June of 2010, Senator Joe Lieberman stated that he believed the US needed the same ability to shut down the internet as China currently has.

While these proposals are sometimes couched in business-friendly rhetoric about protecting intellectual property, sometimes as a national security question about defending cyber infrastructure from foreign enemies and sometimes as attempts to protect children or stop the spread of child pornography, the proponents of internet censorship are becoming increasingly honest about their real worry: the free spread of ideas amongst a public that is allowed to choose for themselves what information to believe and what to discard.

Last year, Bill Clinton advocated the idea that the US government create an agency for “fact-checking” websites on the internet.

Earlier this month, Evgeny Morozov of Stanford, who previously served as a Fellow of George Soros’ Open Society Institute, wrote an article calling on Google and other search engines to use banners to warn users about websites that are deemed to be pseudoscientific or conspiratorial. Perhaps realizing that the proposal sounds drastic, Morozov concludes:

“such a move might trigger conspiracy theories of its own—e.g. is Google shilling for Big Pharma or for Al Gore?—but this is a risk worth taking as long as it can help thwart the growth of fringe movements.”

Here we see the real danger of the internet for those who seek to control the spread of information. The internet, like every other medium that has come before it, changes not just the way in which people create, distribute and receive information, but the information itself. Just as the printing press led to the widespread publication of the Bible in the vernacular and ultimately to the Reformation which forever transformed the power structure in European society, so too has the internet allowed the public to receive, correlate and distribute information that challenges official government narratives in a way that threatens to transform the power structure of our society. And as the traditional media has begun to bleed away the remains of its increasingly dissatisfied customer base, self-immolated on the fantastic failure to challenge the status quo on issues like Saddam’s WMD or the growing apparatus of the police state or the never-ending bailouts of the too-big-to-fails, a new, independent media has arisen to take its place, empowered by technologies that allow for the instantaneous and nearly costless transmission of ideas to the farthest corners of the globe.

When situated in this context, the recent struggle over the SOPA and PIPA bills are seen for what they are: one battle in a much larger war for internet freedom, and ultimately, the cognitive liberty of the American public. But it is possible to win the battle and yet lose the war, as the millions of MegaUpload users who just had all of their files seized by the FBI found out the hard way. The only hope is that the movement that has arisen to face this, the greatest threat to the rise of this new era of mental independence, does not wane in the wake of the SOPA and PIPA “victory,” but instead rises to meet the even greater internet clampdown that awaits. After all, all the authorities are waiting for is for the public to fall back asleep.

Youtube.com and Liveleak.com Video Counter Fudging?

I posted a video of yours truly [pissing on a printed out image of Connecticut US Senator Joe Lieberman]. The counter for the video stayed at 303, and then it was shared about 20 times. You can't share the video without having the view count go up. So something is fishy.

The same for youtube. The more controversial, and the more you would think a particular video would get viewed, the counter sticks. I have noticed this, mostly with videos posted by others that are anti-war, anti-corporation, anti police brutality, anti judicial misconduct, etc.

I noticed that blogs I posted on Enfield Connecticut State Senator, a Republican, John A. Kissel, google blocked the posts where I call Kissel a scumbag, or at least imply it. And if there is a listing, it is to a site that give your computer a virus. That is very dirty. When I posted on Connecticut State Police Colonel Thomas "The Duck" Davoren, the word searches were also blocked. So, scumbags with power can manipulate the internet. I have also have had almost ten laptop and desktop computers just fry after posting on Connecticut State Police brutality and judicial misconduct.

A new white paper presented to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence carves out an 'evolving mission' for Homeland Security that moves away from fighting terrorism and towards growing a vast domestic intelligence apparatus that would expand integration with local/state agencies and private-public partnerships already underway via regional fusion centers.

Crafted by the Aspen Institute Homeland Security Group, co-chaired by former DHS chief Michael Chertoff and composed of a who's who of national security figures, the report outlines a total mission creep, as the title "Homeland Security and Intelligence: Next Steps in Evolving the Mission" implies.

Significantly, it puts on paper and into the Congressional record a proposed transition from outwardly dealing with the threats posed by terrorism towards intelligence gathering "focused on more specific homeward-focused areas." That is, the homegrown, domestic threats we've heard so much about from Big Sis already.

In short, it confirms the intentions of key insiders-- including former NSA/CIA head Michael Hayden, former Rep. Jane Harmon, former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, 9/11 Commissioners Philip Zelikow and Richard Ben-Viniste, former National Security Advisor Samuel Berger and others-- to flesh out a plan we have already seen developing from an outside perspective-- namely, to build a domestic Stasi-like force to takeover, monitor and control the population.

Moreover, the media has reported on this changed mission-- towards the full spectrum domination of the people under a patently-fascist framework-- with the same calm as the weekly weather forecast.

LOCALIZED INTELLIGENCE: HIRING POLICE & BOWING TO PRIVATE INTERESTS

Achieving this new aim includes co-opting local law enforcement and other regional agencies.

"As the threat grows more localized," the report reads, "the federal government's need to train, and even staff, local agencies, such as major city police departments, will grow."

That's right, the feds want to oversee the hiring of your local police.

Fusion Centers, now spread across the nation, have already infected police agencies and local governments with a federalization takeover mentality. A Dec. 2010 Aspen Homeland Security Group report, quoting the Superintendent of the New Orleans Police Department, recommends that "every mayor and governor of a major city in the country should have to attend a DHS-sponsored emergency management course where various scenarios -- like hurricanes, levy breaks, and explosions -- are exercised."

But directing local police departments, mayors and governors is only the beginning. Indeed, the Aspen group envisions the 'foundation for a separate DHS intelligence mission' by building upon 'decentralized' partnerships with the private sector as well.

I would like to be part of a movement to piss on portraits of any elected official, on non-elected official, who voted for, promoted, or signed into being the NDAA, Military Detention Act which allows citizens to be detained by the military, sent out of the country, tortured, murdered, have their citizenship stripped all without a hearing, in unconscionable. To protest this, to get attention, I may have to appeal to the lowest common denominator, the Jerry Springer Show watcher.

I intend on uploading the video to Liveleak.com (update, video approved!, scroll down in post), and will be embedded here as long as liveleak lets me upload that clip. I would not even think of putting it up on youtube, a google entity, although this blog is a google entity.

SOPA and PIPA would subject most blog owners and video uploaders, even the casual, to randomly having their accounts terminated and/or even being subject to 5 years or more in prison for the most benign acts of Free Speech. The internet censorship efforts of the international corporations who have bought, and paid for, US politicians won't stop their efforts until we the people can recall at will, all the rogue politicians such as Joe Lieberman. I want to help with any efforts to remove Joe Lieberman and any other official who supports the NDAA and internet censorship.

Joe Lieberman is a big advocate for his deciding on his own who should be censored, and who should face rendition, secret confinement, torture, having their citizenship being revoked, and even being murdered with no hearing and no records kept. Do you want Joe Lieberman to put you on a secret police enemies list for roundup or being sent to camp? Joe Lieberman can be even more Nazi-like, and more dangerous to the world, than was Adolf Hitler. Hitler didn't have nuclear weapons and his enemies were aligned against him all over the world. Lieberman represents the global occupation of the international corporations and banks. They occupy the world. Joe, I piss on you. Joe, I piss on them.

Joe and his friends might be fine with babies and children being raped with implements dipped in battery acid in front of their parents. That is what is allegedly done to those confined in other countries that have been declared war zones to give extra punishment to those who won't break under standard torture. Joe Lieberman voted to make the US Homeland a war zone where the atrocities committed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and secretly all over the world can now be committed by the US Military run offshore by corporations and banks, and by the contractors paid with US taxpayer dollars.

Implements wrapped around your head, with a half inch in circumference smooth end can be torqued down on your eyeballs until they pop. Any medieval torture method can now be used on you with immunity if done by, or for, the US Government. C-clamps can be used to put two pieces of wood with a little cavity hollowed out in the end. Drywall screws are torqued through tips of penises and blocks of wood to prevent urination and pools of blood from ending up on floors. Blow torches and pliers are used to torment the victim's testicles and penis. US torture contractors are taught how to cause the most amounts of pain without making a bloody mess. You can thank complete psychopaths like Joe Lieberman for this.

Letting politicians know, that we are many, and that, "enough is enough" should be made clear by more of us pissing on their pictures, letting their staff know where we post it, and why.

NDAA Internet Censorship Pee on Joe Lieberman Protest

Connecticut US Senator Joe Lieberman believes he should decide what you are allowed to view here on Liveleak.com, he wants to censor what he sees here, saying he's a reasonable person. So, should Joe decide what you view here? Should Joe decide, himself, who, anywhere in the world should be kidnapped, confined, tortured, and murdered secretly with no hearing. Should the internet be censored using tools like SOPA and PIPA? Well, please let Joe know what you saw here. Geithner: Taxes on ‘Small Business’ Must Rise So Government Doesn’t ‘Shrink’

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told the House Small Business Committee on Wednesday that the Obama administration believes taxes on small business must increase so the administration does not have to “shrink the overall size of government programs.”

The administration’s plan to raise the tax rate on small businesses is part of its plan to raise taxes on all Americans who make more than $250,000 per year—including businesses that file taxes the same way individuals and families do.

Geithner’s explanation of the administration's small-business tax plan came in an exchange with first-term Rep. Renee Ellmers (R.-N.C.). Ellmers, a nurse, decided to run for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010 after she became active in the grass-roots opposition to President Barack Obama’s proposed health-care reform plan in 2009.

“Overwhelmingly, the businesses back home and across the country continue to tell us that regulation, lack of access to capital, taxation, fear of taxation, and just the overwhelming uncertainties that our businesses face is keeping them from hiring,” Ellmers told Geithner. “They just simply cannot.”

She then challenged Geithner on the administration’s tax plan.

“Looking into the future, you are supporting the idea of taxation, increasing taxes on those who make $250,000 or more. Those are our business owners,” said Ellmers.

Geithner initially responded by saying that the administration’s planned tax increase would hit “three percent of your small businesses.”

Ellmers then said: “Sixty-four percent of jobs that are created in this country are for small business.”

Geithner conceded the point, but then suggested the administration’s planned tax increase on small businesses would be “good for growth.”

“No, that's right. I agree with that,” said Geithner. “But just to put it in perspective, it's important to recognize why are we doing this. You know, our deficits are 10 percent of GDP, higher than they've been since any time in the postwar period really. We have a big hole to dig out of, and we have to figure out how to do that in a way that's balanced, good for growth, fair to people as a whole.”

Geithner, continuing, argued that if the administration did not extract a trillion dollars in new revenue from its plan to increase taxes on people earning more than $250,000, including small businesses, the government would in effect “finance” what he called a “tax benefit” for those people.

“We're not doing it because we want to do it, we're doing it because if we don't do it, then, again, I have to go out and borrow a trillion dollars over the next 10 years to finance those tax benefits for the top 2 percent, and I don't think I can justify doing that,” said Geithner.

Not only that, he argued, but cutting spending by as much as the “modest change in revenue” (i.e. $1 trillion) the administration expects from raising taxes on small business would likely have more of a “negative economic impact” than the tax increases themselves would.

“And if we were to cut spending by that magnitude to do it, you'd be putting a huge additional burden on the economy, probably greater negative economic impact than that modest change in revenue,” said Geithner.

When Ellmers finally told Geithner that “the point is we need jobs,” he responded that the administration felt it had “no alternative” but to raise taxes on small businesses because otherwise “you have to shrink the overall size of government programs”—including federal education spending.

“We're not doing it because we want to do it, we're doing it because we see no alternative to a balanced approach to reduce our fiscal deficits,” said Geithner.

“If you don't touch revenues and you leave in place the tax cuts for the top 2 percent that were put in place by President Bush, if you leave those in place and you're trying to bring our deficits down over time, then you have to do exceptionally deep cuts in benefits for middle-class Americans and you have to shrink the overall size of government programs, things like education, to levels that we could not accept as a country,” said Geithner.

“So to do a balanced approach to reduce our deficits you have to make modest changes in revenues,” he said. “There's no realistic opportunity to do alternatives to doing that.”

According to historical budget tables published by the White House Office of Management and Budget, federal spending has climbed from $2.89 trillion in 2008—the year President Obama took office—to $3.82 trillion this year, an increase of approximately $930 billion.

Meanwhile, according to the National Center for Educational Statistics, although federal education spending in inflation-adjusted dollars has jumped from $71.64 billion in 1995—when Bill Clinton was president--to $163.07 billion in 2009—when Barack Obama was president—federal spending still accounted for only 8.2 percent of spending for public primary and secondary education in America in the 2007-2008 school year. Historically and presently in the United States, local and state governments have funded the cost of public education.

Preserving Halloween HQ and the War on Cupcakes

I recently stopped in for a $3 cupcake in a recently opened establishment in Nashua, New Hampshire. Having opened around last October, they had picked the right season to open. The horror story they told me of having to deal with City of Nashua to open was appalling to hear. The number of hoops to jump through, there is a myriad of officials out to fine, confiscate, and close small businesses on any excuse. Rudeness, being an egomaniac, and being a complete parasite on humanity, sociopath must be a requirement for working for city government there. The mayor at the ribbon cutting for that business was apologetic to the owners who were almost prevented from opening due to bureaucracy, and the apathetic, lazy, incompetent, and abusive City Hall goons. Great cupcakes by the way, I recommend stopping in for world class cupcakes and made while you watch, cannolis, if you find yourself in Nashua.

I was then on to the self-proclaimed Halloween capitol of the world, Salem, Massachusetts. Video of my walkabout there available below. Fighting back the international scourge of corporations and out of control banks seems by appearances to be held at bay in Salem. There are busy, unique shops on every downtown street. I have never had a bad meal anywhere, or one that I thought was overpriced in Salem, Mass.

In the video below the one about Salem, I posted one about the evil of Eminent Domain, and did a story back a couple years, interviewing a long time owner of a sheet metal fabricating shop in Norwalk, Connecticut.

From my own experience, I felt town hall, the state, and the Federal Government were at war with me for being a homeowner, small business owner, politically active, engaging in Free Speech, wanting my tax dollars to be spent wisely, employing employees who know who their bosses are, us. For that, taxpayer paid goons went to war with me. I lost. Word search my name for that story. Those who were rewarded for helping the government goon war on me, were vandals, prostitutes, drug dealers, thieves, common criminal parasites, and bi-polar sociopaths. Good behavior is punished, bad behavior is rewarded. So is the world run by international corporations and banks.

They are out to steal from you and ruin your life too. Are you going to let them, or will you fight tooth, and nail, to prevent internet censorship like SOPA and PIPA, and to fight the NDAA, Military Detention of Americans where citizenship of Americans be stripped and they face rendition, torture, confinement, and even death, secretly outside the US? It is time the US Government was not international corporation and banker owned. Let's take it back and not ask nicely.

The corporate motion picture industry, and the mainstream media, does not want the competition of those exercising Free Speech with video uploads and those who speak out about public corruption, police brutality, public corruption, and international corporations and banks ruining America. They want to silence you with legislation. Let's remove each, and every politician who voted for, or promoted, the NDAA. I feel you have to be over the top, and maybe downright inappropriate to get attention in this world.

The first one will be me pissing on Connecticut US Senator Joe Lieberman's printed picture of his face. The second will be on Vermont US Senator Patrick Leahy.

I fled my home and can't go back to my job Monday for reasons I won't discuss on, or over, anything electronic. I did nothing illegal. But, I do know what it is like to be hiding from heavily tattooed organized crime contract killers up from New York City, looking to allegedly injure or kill me. [His used car business] is in Brattleboro, Vermont. I believe to get attention, you must be a little over the top in your approach.

I put my cloths, toiletries, laptop, video camera etc in a black trash bag and I am in a new city, at least for the moment. If the US Government was looking for me, just being online, they'd have my exact location at the time I am online. I don't carry a cellphone to avoid having my exact location known 24/7.

If I was a military target the same satellites that beam radiation on missiles to take them out to radiate down on where I am typing. A little dose will just make me poop like a goose. Yeah, I know, it sounds a little like I should literally be wearing a tinfoil hat. I am not that big a target as I was, as more people are saying what I said, mostly alone, from about 1998, writing letters to the editor printed in newspapers, making me a target for Connecticut State Police harassment, retaliation, and threats of taking my last ride in a cruiser trunk with my teeth kicked out for having such a big mouth. How do you like that for a run-on sentence?

But, the government does have sensory denial, crowd control weapons, and yes, bigger versions are on satellites, I can almost guarantee if they think it, we are spending unknown trillions of US tax dollars to make it so. They really have no budget constraints, that is why the NDAA was passed, and the internet censorship legislation will probably pass too. I could but all sorts of links to back up what I am saying here. Don't be lazy, do some word searches, research this for yourself. For more of us who say cut all the crap, with all the wars, and say, "End all taxpayer support of Israel, end the Fed, and turn back the clock legislatively to before 9/11 to be pre-Police State would be a good thing.

I checked out a mill today for shooting a no budget independent film. It is a throwback to rotary dial telephones, I love it. I thought I wanted to film my latest ideas in New York City. Well, I may have found a better location. The location is for a feature length independent film protesting our current US Police State.

I did just write a Short, a video, on an unrelated subject, which I am looking for two college age male Caucasian actors for. One would wear black face makeup to make the video that much over the top, insensitive, politically incorrect, and some may say, a little racist. My intent is to be so out there as far as upsetting the tight asses in the peanut gallery that I get a little attention to my works and to what I would like to do.

Some of my pet peeves are to reform the judiciary, to get civilian oversight of police, and to take back are government by having a process for recalling legislators who vote for NDAA and internet censorship. We need to be able to fire the bozos who don't represent the will of the people.

To bring attention to how much I am upset by what US Senators have voted for, and propose, that I would like to piss, and maybe even shit on, pictures printed out of Connecticut US Senator Joe Lieberman's and Vermont US Senator Patrick Leahy's face. I would shoot a video and make still of the results of the poop on the printed faces. I would let the office staff of each senator of what I did, where I posted video and digital pictures, and why.

We the people may have to go partially internet and electronics free. If the internet is censored, those who burn to DVD, documentaries and their own independent films, may not get rich, but hand to hand DVD sales might be larger than ever if the goons in government pull the trigger on massive internet and video upload censorship legislation. Given the laws proposed, I might have to pull down all my videos and blog posts to avoid 5 to 10 years in prison, My torture and murder might result from posts like this, but who said life was forever? In this day, and age, you never know what the international corporate and banking tyrants who own the US Government have in store. Make a statement, don't be a pussy, and get loud.

CIA collaboration with New York Police Department was never legally approved

The top lawyer at the CIA never approved sending one of its officers to help the New York Police Department create a domestic spying program, raising the possibility that the agency may have violated a ban on domestic spying.

Last August, the Associated Press reported that the CIA had violated that prohibition when it “played a key role in transforming the New York Police Department’s intelligence unit into a cutting edge spy shop dedicated to gathering information on Muslims.”

New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly insisted in October that the arrangement was legal under a 1981 presidential order, which allows the CIA to provide local law enforcement with “specialized equipment, technical knowledge or assistance of expert personnel,” provided the guidelines are spelled out in advance and the agency’s general counsel approves of the arrangement.

The AP is now reporting, however, that according to intelligence officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, neither of those things was done in 2002 when then-CIA director George Tenet sent a veteran officer to set up “spying programs that transformed the NYPD into one of the nation’s most aggressive domestic intelligence agencies.”

An internal CIA investigation launched in September by newly-appointed Director David Petraeus concluded there had been no wrongdoing, but the AP report casts fresh doubt on that conclusion.

The AP story points out that the role of CIA officer Lawrence Sanchez — and of a second, unidentified, CIA officer who succeeded him in 2010 — was “murky,” which enabled US officials to claim his presence did not violate the ban because he was never directly instructed to help set up the spying programs.

“Officially, he is there on a sabbatical to observe the NYPD’s management,” the AP story notes. “Kelly said the operative provides the NYPD with foreign intelligence. CIA Director David Petraeus described him as an adviser. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper described him to Congress as an analyst, then Clapper’s office acknowledged that was incorrect.”

Clapper has acknowledged that “it did not look good for the CIA to be involved in any city police department.”

The NDAA: Just one more link in the chain of tyranny

Each year, the United States Department of Defense budget and expenditures are approved by Congress, which must pass a National Defense Authorization Act in order to fund the DoD.

The most recent bill, however, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, shocked many by containing an extraordinary provision allowing for the indefinite detention without trial of anyone even suspected of providing support to individuals or groups identified as terrorists. Although this represents little change from the US government’s modus operandi in waging the so-called war on terror, many were amazed to discover that this provision specifically applies to American citizens, who can now be detained by American military personnel anywhere in the world, including on US soil, and held indefinitely without trial.

Perhaps it is not surprising that President Obama chose New Year’s Eve as the date to sign the NDAA, as the revelry of the holiday predictably distracted Americans from the event. Particularly remarkable is the fact that the legislation has been almost universally identified as an overt act of tyranny by commentators of all political stripes, perhaps most importantly from sources that have traditionally defended the actions of Obama and his administration.

Now, on the heels of the NDAA, a new bill is making its way through Congress: the Enemy Expatriation Act that would make the controversy about the NDAA null and void by simply stripping Americans of their American citizenship, should they be accused of associating with government-deemed terrorist organizations.

What the outrage over the NDAA and now the Enemy Expatriation Act, reveal, however, is not that Obama or the current members of the House are suddenly taking the American government in a startling new direction, but merely that they are in fact continuing to pursue a coordinated policy agenda that has persisted through administration after administration on both the left and right sides of the political aisle for decades.

In 1864, during the American civil war, Lambdin P. Milligan and four others were sentenced to death by a military court after they were found guilty of planning to overthrow the state governments of Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. The case reached the Supreme Court after the war ended, where it was found to be unconstitutional for US citizens to be tried in military tribunals as long as civilian courts were operating. This precedent remained in tact for almost a century, with the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 further delineating the boundary between the military and civilians by barring US military from engaging in civil police actions except by act of congress.

In 1942, however, the Supreme Court ruled on Ex Parte Quirin, a case involving the detention of eight German saboteurs during World War II and their trial as civilians in a military tribunal. The court ruled that the eight men, one of whom was a US citizen, could be tried as “unlawful combatants” in the war, a status applying to civilians who engage in armed conflict during times of war.

Unsurprisingly, it is this Ex Parte Quirin decision allowing for the military detention of civilians, not the Ex Parte Milligan precedent, which both the Bush and Obama administrations have relied on to try to assert their authority to detain civilians as unlawful combatants in the so-called war on terror. In the immediate wake of the 9/11 attacks, Congress passed an Authorization for Use of Military Force which authorized the President to “use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks.” Less than two months later, Bush invoked that authorization to issue a Military Order declaring that individuals detained in the war on terror be tried in military tribunals. The administration immediately began applying this order to detainees in Afghanistan, regardless of affiliation.

The practice of detaining these “enemy combatants” at Guantanamo Bay and other military detention centers has been challenged repeatedly in the courts. When the Supreme Court finally ruled in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld that the detainees could not be held as unlawful enemy combatants but had to be held as prisoners of war in accordance with the Geneva Conventions, Congress passed the Military Commissions Act of 2006 specifically authorizing military commissions for the detainees.

In 2008, the Supreme Court ruled that Guantanamo prisoners were entitled to the US justice system, but in 2009, Obama Attorney General Holder and Solicitor General Kagan testified that they believed the government could detain combatants in accordance with the laws of war, thus sidestepping the issue of determining a prisoner’s status or their right to trial.

Now the NDAA of 2012 seems to extend all of these precedents and provisions to US citizens. This comes in addition to Peace Prize laureate Obama’s stunning declaration that he has the right to kill American civilians anywhere in the world, without so much as a trial.

Perhaps most worryingly of all, when Obama expressed reservations about the NDAA, it was not because he as a Constitutional scholar felt the idea of using the military to detain American citizens on American soil was an unconscionable abrogation of everything the US constitution and Bill of Rights stood for, but because he felt that the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force had already granted him this power as supposed Commander-in-Chief in the supposed War on Terror, which has never actually been declared.

Now, many are asking what can be done to prevent this seemingly inevitable slide into overt military control over American citizens and others around the globe.

One voice providing an answer to this question is Stewart Rhodes, a Yale Law graduate and constitutional law scholar who founded Oath Keepers, an organization dedicated to instructing American police and military personnel about the nature of their oath to uphold the constitution, and how that oath precludes them in participating in acts that clearly violate the constitution.

Stewart Rhodes appeared on Corbett Report Radio last week to talk about the history of the use of “enemy combatant status” as a legal smokescreen to violate the Bill of Rights, and how citizens can work to reverse the damage that has already been done by the passing of this legislation.

Many Vermonters want to protest the NDAA. Many are considering taking action to remove US Senator Patrick Leahy for his signing of the NDAA, military detention act which is now law. It might make the US Constitution null and void. A clip of a Vermont Public Radio podcast below. Not included is a caller in to the radio station really taking Leahy to task for having signed the controversial bill. All the good that Leahy could have done in his life might be overshadowed by the NDAA and the internet piracy bill. The Leahy Act is a law about the use of tax dollars being illegal if civil rights are being violated. Did Leahy break his own law twice?

Leahy Drops Domain Name Terms Of Internet Piracy Bill [VPR source]

(Host) Senator Patrick Leahy is the sponsor of a controversial bill that aims to prevent Internet piracy - the problem of rogue websites distributing copyrighted data that they don't own.

Critics of the bill include technology entrepreneurs, services like YouTube and free-speech advocates who say the law would stifle legal online activity. Supporters say the bill goes after illegal websites and protects the intellectual property of content creators.

Speaking Thursday on VPR's Vermont Edition, Leahy stated he was willing to compromise on one aspect of the so-called Protect IP Act. He said he's going to drop a provision that would require service providers to block or redirect users from accessing illegal sites.

(Leahy) "I'm going to set aside these Domain Name provisions. That we'll hold back on, because I've listened to some of the concerns on those. I think there [are] easy answers to it, but let's set it aside, let's spend a year or so studying that part."

(Host) That provision is controversial because it would force Internet Service Providers to manipulate the structure that underpins Internet naming protocols.

The Protect IP Act still faces a contentious closure debate later this month in the US Senate.

Faking It: How the Media Manipulates the World into War

As the drums of war begin to beat once again in Iran, Syria, the South China Sea, and other potential hotspots and flashpoints around the globe, concerned citizens are asking how a world so sick of bloodshed and a population so tired of conflict could be led to this spot once again.

To understand this seeming paradox, we must first understand the centuries-long history of how media has been used to whip the nation into wartime frenzy, dehumanize the supposed enemies, and even to manipulate the public into believing in causes for war that, decades later, were admitted to be completely fictitious.

The term “yellow journalism” was coined to describe the type of sensationalistic, scandal-driven, and often erroneous style of reporting popularized by newspapers like William Randolph Hearst’s New York Journal. In one of the most egregious examples of this phenomenon, Hearst’s papers widely trumpeted the sinking of the Maine as the work of the Spanish. Whipped into an anti-Spanish frenzy by a daily torrent of stories depicting Spanish forces’ alleged torture and rape of Cubans, and pushed over the edge by the Maine incident, the public welcomed the beginning of the US-Spanish war. Although it is now widely believed that the explosion on the Maine was due to a fire in one of its coal bunkers, the initial lurid reports of Spanish involvement stuck and the nation was led into war.

In many ways, the phrase infamously attributed to Hearst in reply to his illustrator “You furnish the pictures and I’ll furnish the war,” apocryphal as the story may be, nevertheless perfectly encodes the method by which the public would be led to war time and again through the decades.

The US was drawn into World War I by the sinking of the Lusitania, a British ocean liner carrying American passengers that was torpedoed by German U-boats off the coast of Ireland, killing over 1,000 of its passengers. What the public was not informed about at the time, of course, was that just one week before the incident, then-First Lord of the Admiralty Winston Churchill had written to the President of the Board of Trade that it was “most important to attract neutral shipping to our shores, in the hopes especially of embroiling the United States with Germany.” Nor did reports of the attack announce that the ship was carrying rifle ammunition and other military supplies. Instead, reports once again emphasized that the attack was an out-of-the-blue strike by a maniacal enemy, and the public was led into the war.

The US involvement in World War II was likewise the result of deliberate disinformation. Although the Honolulu Advertiser had even predicted the attack on Pearl Harbor days in advance, the Japanese Naval codes had already been deciphered by that time, and that even Henry Stimson, the US Secretary of War, had noted in his diary the week before that he had discussed in a meeting with Roosevelt “how we should maneuver them [the Japanese] into the position of firing the first shot without allowing too much danger to ourselves,” the public were still led to believe that the Pearl Harbor attack had been completely unforeseen. Just last month, a newly-declassified memo emerged showing that FDR had been warned of an impending Japanese attack on Hawaii just three days before the events at Pearl Harbor, yet the history books still portray Pearl Harbor as an example of a surprise attack.

In August 1964, the public was told that the North Vietnamese had attacked a US Destroyer in the Gulf of Tonkin on two separate occasions. The attacks were portrayed as a clear example of “communist aggression” and a resolution was soon passed in Congress authorizing President Johnson to begin deploying US forces in Vietnam. In 2005, an internal NSA study was released concluding that the second attack in fact never took place. In effect, 60000 American servicemen and as many as three million Vietnamese, let alone as many as 500,000 Cambodians and Laotians, lost their lives because of an incident that did not occur anywhere but in the imagination of the Johnson administration and the pages of the American media.

In 1991, the world was introduced to the emotional story of Nayirah, a Kuwaiti girl who testified about the atrocities committed by Iraqi forces in Kuwait.

What the world was never told was that the incident had in fact been the work of a public relations firm, Hill and Knowltown, and the girl had actually been the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador. Once again, the public was whipped into a frenzy of hatred for the Hussein regime, not for the documented atrocities that it had actually committed on segments of its own population with weapons supplied to them by the United States itself, but on the basis of an imaginary story told to the public via their televisions, orchestrated by a pr firm.

In the lead-up to the war on Iraq, the American media infamously took the lead in framing the debate about the Iraqi government’s weapons of mass destruction NOT as a question of whether or not they even existed, but as a question of where they had been hidden and what should be done to disarm them. The New York Times led the way with Judith Miller‘s now infamous reporting on the Iraqi WMD story, now known to have been based on false information from untrustworthy sources, but the rest of the media fell into line with the NBC Nightly News asking “what precise threat Iraq and its weapons of mass destruction pose to America”, and Time debating whether Hussein was “making a good-faith effort to disarm Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction.” Reports about chemical weapons stashes were reported on before they were confirmed, although headlines boldly asserted their existence as indisputable fact. We now know that in fact the stockpiles did not exist, and the administration premeditatedly lied the country into yet another war, but the most intense opposition the Bush administration ever received over this documented war crime was some polite correction on the Sunday political talk show circuit.

Remarkably, the public at large has seemingly learned nothing from all of these documented historical manipulations. If anything, the media has become even bolder in its attempts to manipulate the public’s perceptions, perhaps emboldened by the fact that so few in the audience seem willing to question the picture that is being painted for them on the evening news.

Later that year, CNN aired footage of a bombed out Tskhinvali in South Ossetia, falsely labeling it as footage of Gori, which they said had been attacked by the Russians.

In 2009, the BBC showed a cropped image of a rally in Iran which they claimed was a crowd of protesters who assembled to show their opposition to the Iranian government. An uncropped version of the same photograph displayed on the LA Times’ website, however, revealed that the photo in fact came from a rally in support of Ahmedinejad.

In August of 2011, the BBC ran footage of what they claimed was a celebration in Tripoli’s Green Square. When sharp-eyed viewers noticed that the flags in the footage were in fact Indian flags, the BBC was forced to admit that they had “accidentally” broadcast footage from India instead of Tripoli.

Also that month, CNN reported on a story from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claiming that eight infants in incubators had died in a hospital in Hama when Syrian authorities cut off power in the area. Some news sites even carried pictures of the infants. The images were later admitted to have been taken in Egypt and no evidence has ever emerged to back up the accusations.

As breathtaking as all of these lies, manipulations and so-called “mistakes” are, they in and of themselves don’t represent the only functions of the media for the war machine. Now, the US government is taking the lead in becoming more and more directly involved with the shaping of the media message on war propaganda, and the general public is becoming even more ensnared in a false picture of the world through the Pentagon’s own lens.

In 2005, the Bush White House admitted to producing videos that were designed to look like news reports from legitimate independent journalists, and then feeding those reports to media outlets as prepackaged material ready to air on the evening news. When the Government Accountability Office ruled that these fake news reports in fact constituted illegal covert propaganda, the White House simply issued a memo declaring the practice to be legal.

In April 2008, the New York Times revealed a secret US Department of Defense program that was launched in 2002 and involved using retired military officers to implant Pentagon talking points in the media. The officers were presented as “independent analysts” on talk shows and news programs, although they had been specially briefed beforehand by the Pentagon. In December of 2011, the DoD’s own Inspector General released a report concluding that the program was in perfect compliance with government policies and regulations.

Earlier this year, it was revealed the the US government had contracted with HBGary Federal to develop software that create fake social media accounts in order to steer public opinion and promote propaganda on popular websites. The federal contract for the software sourced back to the MacDill Air Force Base in Florida.

As the vehicle through which information from the outside world is captured, sorted, edited and transmitted into our homes, the mass media has the huge responsibility of shaping and informing our understanding of events to which we don’t have first-hand access. This is an awesome responsibility in even the most ideal conditions, with diligent reporters guided by trustworthy editors doing their level best to report the most important news in the most straightforward way.

But in a media landscape where a handful of companies own virtually all of the print, radio and television media in each nation, the only recourse the public has is to turn away from the mainstream media altogether. And that is precisely what is happening.

As study after study and report after report has shown, the death of the old media has accelerated in recent years, with more and more people abandoning newspapers and now even television as their main source of news. Instead, the public is increasingly turning toward online sources for their news and information, something that is necessarily worrying for the war machine itself, a system that can only truly flourish when the propaganda arm is held under monopolistic control.

But as citizens turn away from the New York Times and toward independent websites, many run and maintained by citizen journalists and amateur editors, the system that has consolidated its control over the minds of the public for generations seems to finally be showing signs that it may not be invincible.

Surely this is not to say that online media is impervious to the defects that have made the traditional media so unreliable. Quite the contrary. But the difference is that online, there is still for the time being relative freedom of choice at the individual level. While internet freedom exists, individual readers and viewers don’t have to take the word of any website or pundit or commentator on any issue. They can check the source documentation themselves, except, perhaps not coincidentally, on the websites of the traditional media bastions, which tend not to link source material and documentation in their articles.

Hence the SOPA Act, Protect IP, the US government’s attempts to seize websites at the domain name level, and all of the other concerted attacks we have seen on internet freedoms in recent years.

Because ultimately, an informed and engaged public is far less likely to go along with wars waged for power and profit. And as the public becomes better informed about the very issues that the media has tried to lie to them about for so long, they realize that the answer to all of the mainstream media’s war cheerleading and blatant manipulation is perhaps simpler than we ever suspected: All we have to do is turn them off.

I was watching Alex Jones on youtube.com and a puppy was thrown off a cliff by US Troops. In another clip US troops in a war zone coax someone's family pet, a dog onto a bomb where the dog was promptly blown up where the troops who filmed the event cheered and laughed. I looked for the clip and it may have been removed. I found that, and Jones talking about Barack Obama signing into law, the Military Detention Act, the NDAA, where US Troops can murder, kidnap, torture, and indefinitely detain anyone, for any excuse, anywhere on the globe. God help us all.

Prior to 9/11, Peter J. Coukos, who I had never seen before, walked up on my properties in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, telling me he would own them and I'd have to take whatever he offered. He screamed at me like a lunatic, and I told him to get off my property. He said he could do a better job with them and that he should own them. I didn't know he was an alleged police informant, crack cocaine smoker, alcoholic, who sleeps with prostitutes committing crimes for police, making false statement, assaulting and terrorizing citizen targets of police. Police did reward Coukos for committing crimes for them and for terrorizing me out of the State of Connecticut.

I had been asked to be a police informant to help police ruin small business owners, targets of police, to aid in revenue, asset, and cash confiscation, and to help identify gun owners and aid in the illegal police state confiscation of guns in Connecticut. I refused to be a criminal dirtbag for the Dark Side. I was told if I opened my mouth I lose my properties, contracting business, my daughter, be arrested and go to prison. Officers also threatened that I would have my teeth kicked out and take my last ride in a cruiser.

Then Troop C Connecticut State Police Officer Sgt. Sam Izzarelli said I'd get a "hot shot" in prison, I assume to make me freak out, so I'd be locked up in mental hospital after I gotten prison for having resisted being mugged on my own property. I had yet no trial, before I was attacked on my property, and police were bragging that I was going to prison even though I was suspected of no crime. If police can know a citizen is to be railroaded to prison, terrorized, or murdered for Free Speech, what are all US citizens in for after the passage of this indefinite detention bill?

A police state rewarded Peter Coukos for being a criminal dirtbag, for assaulting me, threatening and sexually harassing my then 14 year old daughter, rewarding Coukos with my rental properties.

Ritt Goldstein, also, proposed Civilian Oversight of Police. A police informant also attacked him on his property, and only he was facing prison for this "offense". Goldstein fled Connecticut, seeking political asylum in Sweden after making [this video].

Many, who worry that there will be solar flares that will fry everything worldwide might happen in 2012, are considered off the wall conspiracy theorists. Electronic pulse weapons can disable a single car if used by police, an entire power grid, or everything inside someone's house or group of buildings. These weapons can be mounted on ground vehicles, helicopters, airplanes, and beamed off satelytes from a ground station fed by major output electric generators.

If there is all out war, disabling all electronics worldwide would allow an army with superior numbers, not in possession of superior technology and nuclear weapons, to be able to rule the globe. Our solar system may pop up and down in regular cycles all over the galaxy with predictable paths. If every 10,000, or so years, our solar system is subject to bombardment of a type of radiation that does in electronics, we might be in store for such an event in our near future. In the 1800's there are reports of electricity jumping out of the ground and telegraph wires catching fire. Operators of equipment were electrocuted. The weak batteries and devices for generating electricity back then were extremely weak and low power. So, the electricity to burn out car electronics and power grids may have been environmental in the past. Are we due for such events again soon?

Cars would have to have nothing electrical at all to run. A hybrid diesel, propane turbine might be in order. 50 or 60 horsepower mated to a 6 speed manual transmission might do the trick for an economy sized car. A car powered by a turbine only, does not require gears other than forward and reverse. The turbine could be used to power the car alone. The turbine could be used to warm the motor and turn the motor so that diesel power could be used. 65 MPG, diesel only is possible with a small, efficient diesel motor. Venting gas could be used for a horn and for other systems on the car. Conventional power steering, brakes, etc can be run off the motor with belts and standard hydraulic systems. Lights for the vehicle could be propane, or other, powered. Airplanes with no electronics at all, just hydraulic and mechanical systems would be the only aircraft able to fly in an environment not suitable for the use of electrical systems.

Even the smallest chance that the above could occur would make the less than 1% of us who own just about everything, control governments, business, and the sum total of all our lives, could make the elite very nervous. They have contingency plans. If the elite knew an event would be occurring disabling communications, computers, and modern life, disrupting their power, would these elite try to kill off as many of us as is possible before such an event?

Flocks of birds flying, then falling dead out of the sky, simultaneously, might indicate pulse radiation weapons being tested. Pilots, and others associated with military aircraft talk of weapons that can smoke a jackrabbit out on the runway using a joystick in the cockpit. These weapons allegedly can take out a pilot of enemy aircraft and/or fry everything electronic in the enemy plane or SAM, surface to air missile stations. Using actual missiles, or mounted machine guns on airplanes may have been unnecessary for decades. New crowd control weapons are being unveiled. These same weapons can be used to kill large crowds of people when these devices are set up on high.

All citizens who blog, upload videos, have music MP3 files on their computer or have received audio and video attachments in their emails that they did not ask for might be subject to 5 years, or so, in prison and being labeled a felon for life. Citizens of other countries will be face being sent to the US to face prosecution for these same "offenses". Those who started crime watches, or were outspoken at meetings in their communities were cataloged by police as potential problems and put on lists for false arrests, property confiscation, job loss, for their families to be broken up, for set ups using police informants, and possible prison terms. Small business, rental property, and commercial property owners who did not have connections were also put on lists to be taken down. 5th Columnists were used pre-9/11 to soften up citizens for the eventual corporate/banker takeover of America. Great question! The Fifth Column. The Fourth Estate. The Third Man. All of these phrases can get confusing. According to Britannica.com, a fifth column refers to any clandestine group or faction of subversive agents who attempt to undermine a nation's solidarity.

Who came up with the phrase, and what's with the columns? Emilio Mola Vidal, a Nationalist general during the Spanish Civil War (1936-39), originally coined the term. As four of his army columns moved on Madrid, the general referred to his militant supporters within the capital as his "fifth column," intent on undermining the loyalist government from within.

So the fifth column is a group of secret sympathizers or supporters of an enemy that engage in espionage or sabotage within defense lines or national borders. Recent conflicts have had their fifth columns: Iraqi insurgents in the Gulf War, Cuban rebels in the Bay of Pigs. Those columns didn't fare quite as well.

Nothing in this post shall be construed to impose a belief that Lamar Smith would round up every American into MPAA-run detention centers if Chris Dodd suggested it would be good for big business.

Does that sound like a stupid way to begin a post, and does it suggest that I’m about to say the opposite? Well, that’s how the Manager’s Amendment version of SOPA starts off, claiming that no matter what the bill says, it’s not a prior restraint on free speech.

Of course, restrictions of results provided by Internet Search Engines amount to just that: prior restraint of their free expression of future results. Google and others, under SOPA, are told what they can or can’t publish before they publish it.

Kill. The. Bill.

And it’s still an affirmative defense that a government order of censorship is technically or economically unreasonable, meaning the burden of proof is on the ISP to show that the government is ordering literally the impossible. This again means that ISPs effectively will have to go out of business if they can’t afford to fight the government in court, and even AT&T couldn’t afford to do that.

SOPA: it’ll kill jobs. It’ll censor the Internet. It’ll turn us from leader to backwater online. GoDaddy backed off of supporting it. Erick Erickson has come out against it, and in favor of primarying those who vote wrongly. Heritage and Beregond add to the forming consensus both against the bill and for an understanding just how dangerous the bill is.

The President, already under fundraising pressure this time around, is being told to veto it anyway. The petition has met his standard and the White House promises a response from Barack Obama. That they’re delaying suggests to me the answer could go either way.

In other news, The administration’s unwillingness to be transparent about LightSquared, as demanded by Chuck Grassley now threatens the proper functioning of the FCC. If Michael Copps quits before Grassley is satisfied, the FCC will shut down.

The FCC needs transparency, too. Suddenly approving a modified version of the AT&T/Qualcomm spectrum deal surprised me, after previous signals that FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski was going to change the rules specially for AT&T.

That said, I still don’t want the FCC to be shut down. As bad as some of their decisions have been, they serve a necessary role. Approving spectrum transfers is important, as is enabling white space use.

I’d rather the FCC opened up about LightSquared. The case the firm has made looks reasonable. Forbes claims the GPS issues are already fixed, but GPS makers simply refuse to make the necessary changes, and would rather simply cut costs at LightSquared’s expense. That’s not fair, if true, and the FCC has nothing to hide if it rules for LightSquared for that reason.

So what are they hiding?

I don't know how to tell Rob Kall, owner of Opednews.com, how annoying pop ups are. Especially one that comes up before you even get into that site. I know that money is needed to operate such a site, but new viewers might be turned off to the pop ups and then not stay to read. So many of the most aware authors in the world post on Opednews.com.

An excerpt of what I read todaym an article written by John Reed, which is [found here in its entirety]:

On December 1, 2011, WikiLeaks released 287 files which it has dubbed "The Spy Files" (click here) detailing some incredible investigative work done by the website Privacy International over the last year involving the manufacture and sale by about 160 companies of services and software to primarily national intelligence agencies with the capacity to render individual privacy and nearly all communications subject to government eavesdropping, censorship, manipulation, editing, tracking and targeting. The commercial software, security, and surveillance companies are incorporated in 25 different countries and most will sell to any regime or private corporation willing to meet their price. According to Julian Assange, the Spy Files were released for the purpose of "documenting the relationships among intelligence agencies and monitoring software developers whose products have been deployed surreptitiously but very, very widely in smart phones and computers." click here

Assange is widely being credited with the revelations in the Spy Files due to the fact he led a panel discussion on espionage and digital security on December 1 in London in which he basically stated that virtually all governments "spy on their own citizens and on foreigners using surreptitious spyware on computers, cell phones, GPS devices and other modern electronic devices." click here Steven Murdoch, University of Cambridge, added that intelligence agencies spy on all individual citizens not because of their involvement in crime or terrorism, but because the intelligence agencies believe the information gathered may prove useful sometime in the future. The implication is, of course, that the information might someday be used for blackmail, although Murdoch does not go so far in his allegations.

It probably comes as no surprise to most progressives that the Spy Files reveal the American NSA and CIA at the front of the line to purchase the most sophisticated surveillance available. Even now, the NSA is building a 1.5 billion dollar facility in Utah just for the purpose of storing such data forever.

Although Assange is getting most of the credit for these revelations, the real hero here is the website Privacy International (click here) and the investigative reporter, Eric King, and his sponsor, the human rights group, Reprieve International, that successfully posed as legitimate international buyers of this sophisticated software for a year in developing their report, "Big Brother Incorporated." According to the panel discussion, the reporters were very surprised how easy it was to gain access to private briefings, confidential reports, technical specifications, and information on other buyers.

The services offered and the capabilities of the software involved are truly mind-blowing. Vendors have websites and offer international meet and greets. The Hacking Team and Gamma Group are examples. One service offered is tapping into high capacity optical fiber networks at submarine cable landing stations. The same service is offered for tapping into land based Internet gateways. In both of these situations, the software used can isolate a single information flow, send it to a land based decryption center for further analysis, and then store it for later use. Additionally, other programs take control of cell phones, even when they are in standby mode, eavesdrop on conversations, take photos of the user and his or her surroundings through the cell phone's camera, record every keystroke of the key pad, monitor email used on the phone, read all text messages, change text messages so the recipient receives a different message from the one the sender sent, use voice recognition to identify the parties to a conversation, and use GPS to locate and, possibly, target a particular phone. In this latter case, when the software developer, Rich Zimmerman, for the GPS locater learned that individuals were targeted by their phone's GPS signal for a missile strike, he is said to have reacted in amazement that the CIA was killing people with his software "that doesn't work." Finally, but not least, some of these companies now, according to The Register, "offer to target and break specific international commercial communications satellites, including Thuraya (covering the Middle East), (click here) (take a moment just to watch this website, then consider the power to buy the tools to hack the satellite) Iridium satellite phones, and Marlink's VSAT. Commercial satellite intercept was previously the almost exclusive turf of GCHQ and NSA's Echelon satellite interception network." click here

Whatever can be said about cell phones can be equally said about computers. Moreover, the spyware sold to governments or corporations for intrusion into computers cannot be discovered by commercial security software like Norton Utilities, McAfee, or similar products, and it successfully defeats system restores. Whatever can be accomplished on a cell phone can also be accomplished on a computer, except that normally a computer holds much more sensitive files than a cell phone. If you are connected to the Internet, just presume you are infected because, if Assange and his panel are correct, you almost certainly are.

Evidence found in Egypt, Libya, and certain other countries, indicates that these regimes were using some of the software at issue, if not the highest levels obtainable nor the most sophisticated. According to the work of Privacy International, the Western democracies are the governments which seek the most and best surveillance equipment and software on the international market.

Anyone who paid close attention to the rapid lose of our civil rights since the 911 attack should remember an early DARPA project termed Total Information Awareness. The TIA program embodied an initial attempt by the US government to do openly what we discuss here it does surreptitiously. TIA was created in the Homeland Security Act in early 2003 to be managed by DARPA, but when details of its massive collection of information on innocent American citizens came to light, Congress was forced to kill the project officially in late 2003. The acronyms TIA and DARPA did not go well together in the American mind. The problem, however, was that while in existence TIA had already purchased the hardware and software for its mandate. The project was therefore merely shifted from DARPA to the NSA where it continued to grow and expand with the ever increasing sophistication of new surveillance software. For many, then, the news that our government is spying on us very closely may not come as a great revelation. We knew it from the Total Information Awareness program, from the Sibel Edmonds case, and almost instinctively. What is new is that instead of collecting terabytes of information and sifting that data for key words or information, the software exists now to keep track of each one of us. Now we are each a target, each located, each heard, each known intimately if they care to look, each subject to blackmail be there a single skeleton in our closet: perhaps a porn site once visited, a Marxist website once read, an intemperate email, a poem over lost love, so many things we have put on our computers. Even if we did not do it, they can do it for us, entering keystrokes when we are not even home, or not even using our Blackberry, turning us into pedophiles, terrorists, tax cheats, or whatever monster they need to disappear without much question or care from our family and friends.

The 1983 movie, "Blue Thunder," was a warning. Arming police surveillance helicopters was very dangerous to freedom. All of the questions the movie asks, without asking, should be asked about the use of unmanned drone military aircraft being used for surveillance of Americans. The arming of these unmanned drones is a billboard to the sky saying that the US Constitution is being used as toilet paper by the owners of the US Government. We need not be slaves doing the modern equivalent of picking cotton. Satellites and unmanned military aircraft are spying on us, and these devices will kill us, make us sick, and/or keep us imprisoned, count on it. This is a movie that most of you should see if you haven't already. It was a warning obviously not heeded.

Blue Thunder is a specially modified helicopter. It is for police work, but is armed and designed to counter street insurgencies. It's makers want to show what it will do, but have to train a Los Angeles Police pilot Frank Murphy, to fly and use it in order to allow it to operate in the city. Murphy and the project pilot have differences going back to Vietnam. The conflict between them continues to heat up as Murphy begins to suspect that Blue Thunder is more than has been disclosed.

Wayne Madsen has learned from his contacts within the Beltway intelligence community that Jared Lee Loughner is an "MK-ULTRA" programmed assassin and that US District Judge John Roll and Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords were targetted for assassination.

The reason for the decision to target Judge Roll and Congresswoman Giffords has to do with their knowledge of the malicious and purposeful arming of Mexican drug gangs along the US-Mexico border by US intelligence agency assets in an effort designed to destablize the Mexican government.

This towards the end of making Mexico more dependent on US military aid and protection from its private security contractors.

A key quote from Wayne Madsen's report follows:

"WMR has been told that in 2009, information about the CIA/Homeland Security/Napolitano smuggling operation came to the attention of three individuals, two members of Congress and a federal judge. The three were Arizona Democratic Representatives Giffords, Republican Representative Mike Conaway from west Texas, and Judge Roll. Giffords and Roll were working together on investigating the extent of the clandestine weapons and druigs smuggling operation and held some joint meetings with informants, one in north Phoenix, in 2009.

Information on the investigation and informants was strictly limited to only a few trusted staffers and clerks for Giffords and Roll. In addition, Conaway was also being briefed by informants on the smuggling operation but since the death of Roll and the severe mental and physical incapacitation of Giffords from the shooting carried out by Jared Lee Loughner, said to be an MK-ULTRA-like trained assassin, he has gone silent in fear for his own safety.

Loughner's was declared mentally incompetent and there are reports, including one in Slate Magazine, that the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri, where Loughner is being held, pending a determination of his mental fitness to stand trial, is being administered psychotropic drugs in his Kool Aid.

In addition to receiving drugs to fund its off-the-books operations, the CIA weapons smuggling program is designed to arm the two main Mexican cartels — Sinaloa and Los Zetas — in order to destabilize Mexico.

The below is what I intended on posting on opednews.com Something is blocking me from posting. It is either a virus my computer has picked up, or a problem with the opednews.com server. I, however, have a different theory. I cut and pasted the html code that I tried to post on opednews.com, it seems to work fine on this blog.

RT America is a channel available on youtube and can be viewed live streaming over the internet here. I like to watch Thom Hartmann and other programs on RT. Thom Hartmann's recent RT America, "Big Picture", show [embedded here], or see, below this line.

Whether you are well informed about the banking/corporate takeover, or not, Thom Hartmann breaks it down in a great way. I don't agree with all he has to say, however. I think Republicans and Democrats can be equally used by the bankers and offshore corporate owners of America.

I watched the above clip you link to above for Roger and me. I watched this clip where GM is still pissed.

We are all getting evicted out of our lives. It is the corporate take over of America.

I was asked to be a police informant, by Connecticut State Police in Stafford Springs, to ruin other landlords, small business owners, and to make false statements for police to confiscate guns. I refused to break laws for the police who were organized crime, pimps, and aids to heroin and crack cocaine dealing. I got prison after being beaten on my property by a police informant. So police evicted me and after prison I almost froze to death out in the woods of Vermont fearing police would make good on their threats and kill me.

There are many Rogers poised against us. They are waging electronic, financial, and actual war on us.

I watched the above clip you link to above for Roger and me. I watched this clip where I got prison after being beaten on my property by a police informant. Some previous attempts to post on other articles, I lost all that I typed. Some of what resulted was jumbled up as to really distort what I actually wanted to say. I fear someone malicious within the police state can post something that I didn't write to destroy my credibility, or worse, to set me up for arrest and prison, posting something that can be viewed as criminal.

Anti-narcotics agents working for the US government have laundered or smuggled millions of dollars in drug proceeds to see how the system works and use the information against Mexican drug cartels, The New York Times reported Sunday.

Citing unnamed current and former federal law enforcement officials, the newspaper said the agents, primarily with the Drug Enforcement Administration, have handled shipments of hundreds of thousands of dollars in illegal cash across borders.

Some 45,000 people have been killed in Mexico since 2006, when its government launched a major military crackdown against the powerful drug cartels that have terrorized border communities as they battled over lucrative smuggling routes.

According to these officials, the operations were aimed at identifying how criminal organizations move their money, where they keep their assets and, most important, who their leaders are, the report said.

The agents had deposited the proceeds in accounts designated by traffickers, or in shell accounts set up by agents, the paper noted.

While the DEA conducted such operations in other countries, it began doing so in Mexico only in the past few years, The Times said.

As it launders drug money, the agency often allows cartels to continue their operations over months or even years before making seizures or arrests, the report said.

According to The Times, agency officials declined to publicly discuss details of their work, citing concerns about compromising their investigations.

But Michael Vigil, a former senior official who is currently working for a private contracting company called Mission Essential Personnel, is quoted by the paper as saying: "We tried to make sure there was always close supervision of these operations so that we were accomplishing our objectives, and agents weren’t laundering money for the sake of laundering money."

Roughly 120 thousand private jobs were created in the month of November, but critics say retail and hospitality jobs aren't the type of jobs America needs. Others say that this doesn't make up for the new people joining the workforce. Gerald Celente, publisher of The Trends Journal, sounds off on the issue.

US Government Lets Bank Off The Hook
Wachovia Bank reached a $160 million settlement with the Justice Department over allegations that a failure in bank controls enabled drug traffickers to launder drug money by transferring money from Mexican currency-exchange houses to the bank.
Under a deferred-prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors in Miami, Wachovia, which is owned by Wells Fargo & Co., "admitted failure to identify, detect, and report suspicious transactions in third-party payment processor accounts," according to the Justice Department. Prosecutors said the bank processed $420 billion in transactions without using proper money-laundering detection.
In a statement, Wachovia said it "has made significant enhancements to its [anti-money laundering] and [Bank Secrecy Act] compliance program that have strengthened its ability to guard against unlawful use of its system by wrongdoers." Wachovia has spent $42 million improving its compliance program, the bank said.

US Troops forced to Torture, Fear of the Other Side

There are so many returning US Troops. Many are talking. No wonder, they are the first under surveillance, and the most ripe for the plucking, to end up in secret detention, themselves. The most dangerous element to the offshore corporate, and bankster owned US Government, are returning US Veterans.

After boot camp troops are told that if they talk about the corporate abuse going on in war zones, they may not ever return. So, how patriotic can young men, and women, be if they are threatened with being killed for caring? Being tortured themselves, and even making their families suffer after their own deaths for acts of conscience, why should they risk it?

Many fear the other side. Many don't really believe in God as the concept is taught. Many do believe. There is an unknown. Who most cares about your own life. The answer is you. What if you had to review all the pivotal points in your own life, reliving them for your own judgment in real time? Imagine torturing someone and their presence leaving the scene to view from another dimension. Soldiers have to deal with this, and more. What goes around, comes around. The evil that is sown, will grow. What grows, comes back out of the ground. Beware to those who think that what they do is for pure pleasure and profit, there are consequences. Grunts sent out to be bullet catchers and bomb absorbers have souls.

America The shocking truth about the crackdown on Occupy

US citizens of all political persuasions are still reeling from images of unparallelled police brutality in a coordinated crackdown against peaceful OWS protesters in cities across the nation this past week. An elderly woman was pepper-sprayed in the face; the scene of unresisting, supine students at UC Davis being pepper-sprayed by phalanxes of riot police went viral online; images proliferated of young women – targeted seemingly for their gender – screaming, dragged by the hair by police in riot gear; and the pictures of a young man, stunned and bleeding profusely from the head, emerged in the record of the middle-of-the-night clearing of Zuccotti Park.

But just when Americans thought we had the picture – was this crazy police and mayoral overkill, on a municipal level, in many different cities? – the picture darkened. The National Union of Journalists and the Committee to Protect Journalists issued a Freedom of Information Act request to investigate possible federal involvement with law enforcement practices that appeared to target journalists. The New York Times reported that "New York cops have arrested, punched, whacked, shoved to the ground and tossed a barrier at reporters and photographers" covering protests. Reporters were asked by NYPD to raise their hands to prove they had credentials: when many dutifully did so, they were taken, upon threat of arrest, away from the story they were covering, and penned far from the site in which the news was unfolding. Other reporters wearing press passes were arrested and roughed up by cops, after being – falsely – informed by police that "It is illegal to take pictures on the sidewalk."

In New York, a state supreme court justice and a New York City council member were beaten up; in Berkeley, California, one of our greatest national poets, Robert Hass, was beaten with batons. The picture darkened still further when Wonkette and Washingtonsblog.com reported that the Mayor of Oakland acknowledged that the Department of Homeland Security had participated in an 18-city mayor conference call advising mayors on "how to suppress" Occupy protests.

To Europeans, the enormity of this breach may not be obvious at first. Our system of government prohibits the creation of a federalised police force, and forbids federal or militarised involvement in municipal peacekeeping.

I noticed that rightwing pundits and politicians on the TV shows on which I was appearing were all on-message against OWS. Journalist Chris Hayes reported on a leaked memo that revealed lobbyists vying for an $850,000 contract to smear Occupy. Message coordination of this kind is impossible without a full-court press at the top. This was clearly not simply a case of a freaked-out mayors', city-by-city municipal overreaction against mess in the parks and cranky campers. As the puzzle pieces fit together, they began to show coordination against OWS at the highest national levels.

Why this massive mobilisation against these not-yet-fully-articulated, unarmed, inchoate people? After all, protesters against the war in Iraq, Tea Party rallies and others have all proceeded without this coordinated crackdown. Is it really the camping? As I write, two hundred young people, with sleeping bags, suitcases and even folding chairs, are still camping out all night and day outside of NBC on public sidewalks – under the benevolent eye of an NYPD cop – awaiting Saturday Night Live tickets, so surely the camping is not the issue. I was still deeply puzzled as to why OWS, this hapless, hopeful band, would call out a violent federal response.

That is, until I found out what it was that OWS actually wanted.

The mainstream media was declaring continually "OWS has no message". Frustrated, I simply asked them. I began soliciting online "What is it you want?" answers from Occupy. In the first 15 minutes, I received 100 answers. These were truly eye-opening.

The No 1 agenda item: get the money out of politics. Most often cited was legislation to blunt the effect of the Citizens United ruling, which lets boundless sums enter the campaign process. No 2: reform the banking system to prevent fraud and manipulation, with the most frequent item being to restore the Glass-Steagall Act – the Depression-era law, done away with by President Clinton, that separates investment banks from commercial banks. This law would correct the conditions for the recent crisis, as investment banks could not take risks for profit that create kale derivatives out of thin air, and wipe out the commercial and savings banks.

No 3 was the most clarifying: draft laws against the little-known loophole that currently allows members of Congress to pass legislation affecting Delaware-based corporations in which they themselves are investors.

When I saw this list – and especially the last agenda item – the scales fell from my eyes. Of course, these unarmed people would be having the shit kicked out of them.

For the terrible insight to take away from news that the Department of Homeland Security coordinated a violent crackdown is that the DHS does not freelance. The DHS cannot say, on its own initiative, "we are going after these scruffy hippies". Rather, DHS is answerable up a chain of command: first, to New York Representative Peter King, head of the House homeland security subcommittee, who naturally is influenced by his fellow congressmen and women's wishes and interests. And the DHS answers directly, above King, to the president (who was conveniently in Australia at the time).

In other words, for the DHS to be on a call with mayors, the logic of its chain of command and accountability implies that congressional overseers, with the blessing of the White House, told the DHS to authorise mayors to order their police forces – pumped up with millions of dollars of hardware and training from the DHS – to make war on peaceful citizens.

But wait: why on earth would Congress advise violent militarised reactions against its own peaceful constituents? The answer is straightforward: in recent years, members of Congress have started entering the system as members of the middle class (or upper middle class) – but they are leaving DC privy to vast personal wealth, as we see from the "scandal" of presidential contender Newt Gingrich's having been paid $1.8m for a few hours' "consulting" to special interests. The inflated fees to lawmakers who turn lobbyists are common knowledge, but the notion that congressmen and women are legislating their own companies' profitsis less widely known – and if the books were to be opened, they would surely reveal corruption on a Wall Street spectrum. Indeed, we do already know that congresspeople are massively profiting from trading on non-public information they have on companies about which they are legislating – a form of insider trading that sent Martha Stewart to jail.

Since Occupy is heavily surveilled and infiltrated, it is likely that the DHS and police informers are aware, before Occupy itself is, what its emerging agenda is going to look like. If legislating away lobbyists' privileges to earn boundless fees once they are close to the legislative process, reforming the banks so they can't suck money out of fake derivatives products, and, most critically, opening the books on a system that allowed members of Congress to profit personally – and immensely – from their own legislation, are two beats away from the grasp of an electorally organised Occupy movement … well, you will call out the troops on stopping that advance.

So, when you connect the dots, properly understood, what happened this week is the first battle in a civil war; a civil war in which, for now, only one side is choosing violence. It is a battle in which members of Congress, with the collusion of the American president, sent violent, organised suppression against the people they are supposed to represent. Occupy has touched the third rail: personal congressional profits streams. Even though they are, as yet, unaware of what the implications of their movement are, those threatened by the stirrings of their dreams of reform are not.

Sadly, Americans this week have come one step closer to being true brothers and sisters of the protesters in Tahrir Square. Like them, our own national leaders, who likely see their own personal wealth under threat from transparency and reform, are now making war upon us.

The toxic long-term effects of aspartame are often dismissed as a "hoax"

The real footwork, however, unravels something less comforting than a

Dr. Woodrow C. Monte wrote: "Methanol [one of the breakdown products of
aspartame] has no therapeutic properties and is considered only as a
toxicant. The ingestion of two teaspoons is considered lethal in humans"
(Monte, Woodrow, "Aspartame: Methanol and the Public Health", Journal
of Applied Nutrition, Vol. 36, Number 1, 1984, p. 44).

Long-term use can create a ticking time-bomb for a large array of
neurological illnesses, including (but not limited to) Brain Cancer, Lou
Gehrig's Disease, Graves Disease, Chronic Fatigue, MS and Epilepsy.

Documentary Hits Home:

In November of 2001, Cori Brackett, co-owner of Sound and Fury
Productions, unaware of any controversy surrounding artificial
sweeteners and had been a heavy consumer of diet soda, began
experiencing a tingling sensation in her hands and feet. She read an
article about aspartame being connected to many health problems and quit
using products like diet soda - which contain aspartame.

However, the tingling stubbornly continued, eventually convincing her to
seek medical advice. Her doctor ordered an MRI of her brain which
resulted in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.

At first, she was horrified as her condition quickly progressed to the
point that she had double vision, slurred speech, and weak limbs forcing

Among the many ironies of our modern world is that Gerald Ford awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom-America,s highest civilian honor-to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on January 19, 1977. Just a few weeks later on March 8, Rumsfeld became the CEO of G.D. Searle to take point on a mission to force the Food and Drug Administration to approve for human consumption a known carcinogen and neurotoxic poison.

Mission accomplished: Today some 9,000 commonly consumed products are laced with this weapon of mass misery and millions of people live with chronic illnesses linked to the artificial sweetener aspartame. It is our belief at The Idaho Observer that if some guy named Parkinson can have a disease named after him, then Donald Rumsfeld ought to have his own disease, too. Hence the term Rumsfeld disease A.

Today, Donald Rumsfeld is known throughout the world as the zealous U.S. Secretary of Defense who is waging a global "war on terror" in search of "terrorists" and "weapons of mass destruction." Most people, however, are not aware that Rumsfeld himself unleashed a chemical weapon of mass destruction upon the world in 1981-and it,s still out there destroying people all over the world. That "WMD" is aspartame and it has been scientifically and anecdotally linked to millions of chronic illnesses and deaths.

The evidence shows that, with full knowledge of aspartame,s neurotoxicity and carcinogenicity, Rumsfeld, as the CEO of G.D.

Searle, Co., "called in his markers" to achieve U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for the artificial sweetener aspartame, better known by its trade name "NutraSweet."

Consumer advocate attorney Jim Turner, who was instrumental in the 1969 banning of cyclamate in the U.S. for its link to various forms of cancer, met with representatives of aspartame approval petitioner Searle in 1974. The main topic of discussion was neuroscientist Dr. John Olney,s 1971 study which showed that aspartic acid caused lesions in the brains of infant mice. According to Turner, arguably the world,s foremost authority on aspartame,s dubious legal history, Rumsfeld was apparently hired by Searle for one specific purpose: To obtain FDA approval for aspartame.

Betty Martini is the director of Mission Possible, a worldwide consumer advocacy organization formed in 1992 as a voice for those demanding that the FDA reverse its approval of aspartame and order its removal from foods, beverages and medical preparations. Martini is even more bold in her charges against Rumsfeld. Martini believes the Washington insider, former three-term U.S. Rep. From Illinois (1962-1968), secretary of defense (1975-1977) and executive assistant to President Gerald Ford, was hired by Searle because, "He was willing to get a deadly chemical poison, aspartame, approved for human consumption"

Background

In December, 1965 Searle chemist James Schlatter discovered aspartame while working on an ulcer drug. The substance, comprised of 50 percent synthetic phenylalanine, 40 percent synthetic aspartic acid and 10 percent methanol, was about 200 times sweeter than sugar by weight and had no calories. By spring, 1967, Searle began conducting safety trials in preparation for petitioning the FDA for product approval.

Soon after the trials began, lab animals (monkeys and mice) began experiencing adverse effects ranging from brain lesions and tumors to seizures and death. Yet Searle petitioned the FDA for aspartame approval in February, 1973. According to Turner, Searle provided the FDA with over 100 studies claiming they proved aspartame was "safe." Independent analyses of these studies, however, proves conclusively that aspartame is actually a dangerous, neurotoxic, carcinogenic and highly-addictive drug.

Trusting Searle,s promise that aspartame was safe, the FDA approved the limited use of aspartame in dry goods on July 26, 1974. Turner and Dr. Olney formally objected to the approval. Their petition triggered an FDA investigation of Searle,s lab practices which proved that Searle had provided the FDA with inaccurate conclusions resulting from manipulated data derived from poorly-designed studies. The FDA reversed its decision to approve aspartame in dry goods.

On January 10, 1977, the FDA formally requested that the U.S. Department of Justice convene a federal grand jury to determine if Searle should be criminally indicted for "concealing material facts and making false statements" with regard to its petition for aspartame approval.

Among the many charges FDA investigators made about Searle,s shoddy lab practices was how rats that developed tumors would undergo surgical removal of the tumors and then be placed back into the study as if nothing had happened to them.

The grand jury investigation was led by U.S. Attorney Samuel Skinner. In July 1, 1977, while the investigation was being conducted, Skinner left the Justice Department and took a job with Sidley & Austin-the law firm representing Searle. The statute of limitations eventually ran out and the grand jury disbanded without reaching any conclusions regarding Searle and its lab practices.

Amid this controversy, Rumsfeld was hired as Searle CEO on March 8, 1977 and immediately began cleaning house. Rumsfeld, who had no previous business executive experience before becoming CEO of Searle, reorganized several departments in the company and fired many of its high-level managers, replacing them with other politically-connected Washington, D.C., insiders.

Though the controversies deepened and the evidence proving the poisonous nature of his company,s product continued to accumulate, Rumsfeld and his team continued to push for FDA approval of aspartame.

A team of FDA investigators headed by Jerome Bressler attempted to block Rumsfeld, et. al, by publishing what has become known as the "Bressler Report" on August 1, 1977. The report cited several instances where Searle intentionally mislead the FDA in its petition for marketplace approval of aspartame. The FDA then formed a public board of inquiry (PBOI) in 1979 to rule on the myriad safety issues surrounding aspartame.

By this time, FDA investigators and independent scientists had exhaustively reviewed the Searle studies and additional studies had been conducted. There was no doubt, based upon objective analyses of evidence that had accumulated for over a decade, that aspartame was deathly poisonous to lab animals and caused a statistically significant number of them to develop tumors.

On September 30, 1980, the PBOI concluded that aspartame should not be approved pending further investigation of its link to the formation of brain tumors and that the FDA "has not been presented with proof of reasonable certainty that aspartame is safe for use as a food additive."

The coup

Ronald Reagan was sworn in as president January 21, 1981. Rumsfeld, while still CEO at Searle, was part of Reagan,s transition team. This team hand-picked Dr. Arthur Hull Hayes, Jr., to be the new FDA commissioner. Dr. Hayes, a pharmacologist, had no previous experience with food additives before being appointed director of the FDA. He, like Rumsfeld, did, however, have experience with chemical warfare studies while connected to the Department of Defense. According to The Washington Post, Hayes was, "one of a number of doctors who conducted drugs tests for the Army on volunteers.to determine the effect of a mind-disorienting drug called CAR 301,060," at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

The Post further explained why Hayes was the perfect choice to politically force the approval of aspartame: "According to a declassified 1976 report prepared by the Army Inspector General, Hayes had planned a research study to develop the mind-altering CAR 301,060 as a crowd control agent."

The report, detailing Hayes activities beginning in 1972, further indicated that Hayes was involved in similar biochemical mind control research studies until being named FDA director.

One of Hayes, first official acts as FDA chief was to approve the use of aspartame as an artificial sweetener in dry goods July 18, 1981. In order to accomplish this feat, Hayes had to overlook the scuttled grand jury investigation of Searle, overcome the Bressler Report, ignore the PBOI,s recommendations and pretend aspartame did not chronically sicken and kill thousands of lab animals. Hayes, left his post at the FDA in November, 1983, amid accusations that he was accepting corporate gifts for political favors. Just before leaving office in scandal, Hayes approved the use of aspartame in beverages. According to The Post, Hayes, next job was in the private sector where he served as a high-paid senior medical advisor for Searle,s public relations firm.

The aftermath

Within weeks of aspartame,s approval for use in beverages, cans of diet sodas and other sweet drinks were on the market. To help sell Americans on using the artificial sweetener, intense advertising campaigns began programming the public to believe that sugar has lots of calories; calories make us fat and NutraSweet has no calories-therefore it won,t make us fat.

Based upon this almost universally-accepted oversimplification of biochemical reality, aspartame has enjoyed 22 years of marketplace success and is now in an estimated 7,000 to 9,000 commonly-consumed products in at least 100 countries. When Searle was absorbed by Monsanto in 1985, Rumsfeld reportedly received a $12 million bonus.

Not surprisingly, the same adverse reactions seen in lab animals in the 60s and 70s are now being seen in the general population. In his first book on aspartame (1990), Dr. H.J. Roberts stated that in five or 10 years we would have a worldwide plague on our hands if we do not remove aspartame from our food supply. With the printing of "Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic (2001), Dr. Roberts declared that the world is, indeed, plagued by a global epidemic of symptoms associated with aspartame use.

* Aspartame is being identified by a growing number of researchers and physicians as an underlying cause of chronic ill health in America and other countries throughout the world.

* It interacts with other substances such as pharmaceutical drugs to produce adverse reactions.

* All metabolites of aspartame (formaldehyde, methanol, diketopiperazine and formic acid) are toxic to the human body and are especially toxic to the brain.

* Aspartame comprises over 80 percent of consumer complaints filed with the FDA.

* The FDA has generated a list of 92 symptoms associated with aspartame consumption that include nausea, dizziness, irritability, insanity, blindness, deafness, weight gain and death.

* The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention claim that 500,000 people each year simply "drop dead" for no apparent reason from what it labels "sudden cardiac death."

* Dementia among all ages (especially the elderly) and learning disabilities among children, in the U.S. and abroad, have been skyrocketing since 1981.

As of today, the number of scientific and studies showing that aspartame is, indeed, an underlying cause of chronic physical and mental illness and death out number studies proving its safety by at least 400 to zero. Proof of this fact can also be determined by what happens in many cases when people stop using aspartame: Their chronic symptoms disappear.

The legacy

Defense Secretary Rumsfeld was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Gerald Ford-the highest civilian honor in America-on January 19, 1977. A few months later, Rumsfeld became the CEO of Searle to secure political approval for a product that science had proven to be a highly-addictive neurotoxic drug that causes chronic ill health, brain tumors and death. The evidence indicates that FDA approval for aspartame was a high-level political priority undoubtedly connected to its capacity to adversely effect the minds and bodies of those consuming it.

Because Rumsfeld placed politics above public health and safety, hundreds of millions of people throughout the world cannot think clearly and suffer from a variety of chronic illnesses. It is, therefore, fitting that symptoms associated with aspartame use be known as "Rumsfeld,s disease."

Only yesterday in national news we learned diet and low calorie pop will be left in schools which will poison our children. As an example, Coke Zero has aspartame. Aspartame is a chemical hypersensitization agent because it is a neurotoxic drug/chemical poison. It not only interacts with all drugs but all vaccines and other toxins and unsafe sweeteners like Splenda, a chlorocarbon poison. So our children don't have a chance. In July a 3 year Italian study was released by the European Foundation for Oncology and Environmental Sciences which revealed it causes leukemia, lymphoma and malignant brain tumors. Their July 14 05 report declares: "The results demonstrate ... that aspartame is a carcinogenic agent." How many mothers knowing this would want their children drinking an addictive carcinogenic agent. Aspartame liberates free methyl alcohol which causes chronic methanol poisoning. This affects the dopamine system of the brain and causes addiction. Now understand why the pop companies want this poison in your schools which causes Rumsfeld Disease.

Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D., one of the world's leading authorities on aspartame neurotoxicity, extensively reviewed the Soffritti report. "This study confirmed the previous study by Dr. Trocho and co-workers (l998), which also found the formaldehyde breakdown product of aspartame to be damaging to cellular DNA and that this damage was cumulative. The type of damage was a duplicate of that associated with cancers. These two studies strongly indicate that drinking a single diet cola sweetened with aspartame every day could significantly increase one's risk of developing a lymphoma or leukemia."

Dr. Blaylock said further "This study should terrify mothers and all those consuming aspartame sweetened products. This was a carefully done study which clearly demonstrated a statistically significant increase in several types of lymphomas and leukemias in rats. Both of these malignancies have increased significantly in this country since the widespread use of aspartame."

Dr. Blaylock also said "They found that even lower doses of aspartame could cause these malignancies, yet the higher the dose, the more cancers that were seen. Since aspartame can increase obesity and may even cause the metabolic syndrome that affects 48 million Americans, there is no reason to ever consume this product. At the least, it should be immediately banned from all schools."

Any mother reading this article with children in school should immediately take this to their principal, children's teacher and PTA along with the movie, Sweet Misery, and demand that all products with aspartame (NutraSweet/Equal/Spoonful, E951/Canderel/Benevia, etc.) and especially pop with this poison be removed - period, no if's, no and's and no but's. And Board of Educations should also remove the lobbyists and those who would offer money to keep poisoned pop in schools. How much is the brain of your child worth. Remember this is the cause of the epidemic of ADD, ADHD, autism, Tourettes, and behavioral problems.

Rumsfeld Disease may become one of the largest plagues in world history. The list of horrors is unending. Thanks to despicable and greedy Big Pharma/Codex, in England supplements from industry now contain aspartame. Diane Fleming still remains in a prison in Virginia because methanol was found on her husband's autopsy and they thought she poisoned him even though she passed their lie detector test. Doctors affidavits state he died from aspartame which causes methanol poisoning. Athletes like Fleming are dying because aspartame damages the cardiac conduction system and causes sudden death, although his was not sudden.

This month’s release of a new International Atomic Energy Agency report into Iran’s nuclear energy program has caused a flurry of diplomatic activity, political posturing, and breathless news headlines about the supposed imminent threat of an alleged Iranian nuclear weapons program.

Given the nature and tenor of the coverage of the IAEA report in the mainstream press, one might be forgiven for believing that the agency has in fact uncovered new signs that Iran has made any concrete steps toward creating a nuclear weapon since it suspended that program in 2003 or that there is any evidence whatsoever that Iran has made any progress in the development of nuclear weapons technology.

In reality, however, the report contains no new information about Iran’s alleged attempts to create nuclear weapons, a fact quietly conceded by even the most hawkish opponents of Iran’s nuclear program, including former weapons inspector David Albright.

Given the distinct lack of any new evidence whatsoever to support the contention that Iran is in fact developing nuclear weapons, the question may well be asked why this report is being trumpeted so loudly in the press, and why the public is being told there is the need for urgent action on this case. The seeming paradox of an urgent need for action on an issue that has in reality remained static for nearly a decade is resolved when one understands this recent round of fearmongering as a small part of a much longer history of western interference in Iranian politics, a history that stretches back for the better part of a century.

In 1941, British and Soviet forces executed a joint surprise attack on Iran. The British were concerned about their Ango-Iranian Oil Company interests, the Soviets ended up securing petroleum concessions before their withdrawal in 1946, and both were interested in securing the Trans-Iranian Railway for the Allied war effort.

When Dr. Mohammed Mossadegh was elected Iranian Prime Minister in 1951, he nationalized the country’s oil reserves, thus enraging Britain,whose Anglo-Iranian Oil interests were once again threatened. The British began an Iranian oil embargo and secured US help in fomenting a coup that succeeded in overthrowing Mossadegh via a CIA operation codenamed TPAJAX that was led by Kermit Roosevelt, Jr., the grandson of the former US President Teddy Roosevelt. The coup ushered in a new era of brutal dictatorship in which the Shah ruled with an iron fist, protected by the bloody rule of his secret police, the much-dreaded SAVAK.

In 1979 an Islamic revolution led by Ayatollah Khoemeini deposed the Shah and installed a new Islamic Republic, although reports persist to this day that Khoemeini had been protected and promoted by the British, French, and Americans, who had become wary of the Shah’s nationalist tendencies.

In 1981, the American hostages who had been seized at the US embassy during the revolution were released in what is now widely acknowledged to have been a political deal cut with representatives of the Ronald Reagan campaign, a deal which supplied Iran with weapons and access to US funds in return for delaying the release of the hostages until Reagan had been elected president.

In 1988, American forces shot down an Iranian commercial airliner with two SM-2MR surface-to-air missiles over the Straits of Hormuz, killing all 290 passengers and crew, including 66 children. It had been shot down by an American cruiser which was in Iranian waters at the time of the incident, and the plane had been in Iranian airspace at the time it was destroyed. The US never admitted wrongdoing for the incident nor so much as apologized, although it did pay a $61.8 million dollar compensation package as a result of International Court of Justice proceedings.

In the light of this historical background, the current round of Iranian hysteria has to be seen as only the latest version of a very old story of imperial conquest in Persia, and part of a greater strategy to dominate one of the key countries in the Middle East.

In its latest iteration, this story relies on the exclusion of a central hypocrisy: that the only nuclear power in the Middle East is in fact Israel, a country with the sixth largest nuclear stockpile in the world that is not a signatory to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty whose weapons have never even been formally acknowledged, let alone inspected by the IAEA.

In this story, Israel, the only nuclear power in the region and the largest recipient of US military aid, supposedly faces an existential threat by the idea that one day the Iranian government might actually develop the capability of constructing a single nuclear warhead. Nevertheless, Israel has been at the heart of the latest round of warmongering over Iran, with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu openly rallying his cabinet for a pre-emptive strike on Iran on the same day that reports emerged of a secret meeting between the Chief of General Staff of the Israeli Defense Force, Lt. General Benny Gantz, and the British military chief, Sir David Richards.

Given the growing number of diplomats, intelligence chiefs and heads of state who have lined up to caution Israel about such a strike, led perhaps most ominously by an increasingly aggressive China and a Russia that still poses a formidable military threat, many are asking what Israel hopes to gain by starting a conflict that many analysts have noted would be the most dangerous step yet on the path to a full-scale World War III scenario.

I had the chance to put that question to investigative journalist Wayne Madsen, who recently penned an article on the issue, earlier this week.

Now, the IAEA is preparing a resolution condemning Iran for its nuclear activities, leaving the door open for yet more punitive sanctions on the Iranian government. As the world braces for what looks increasingly like the early stages of yet another war in the volatile region, Iran continues to deny that it is seeking to develop atomic weapons, Israel continues to dodge the question of its own nuclear stockpile, and the United Nations Security Council looks set once again to be the vehicle for the justification of sanctions and potential war.

The results are what one would expect. We know at least one US Border Patrol agent and hundreds of Mexican citizens were killed as a result. The guns are still out there and so are the gangs. Meanwhile, local law enforcement and border patrol agents must contend with the consequences created by elements outside of their control.

Their job is to prevent infiltration of guns, illegals, and drugs from entering our country and using local communities as bases of operation. Secretary Napolitano, with the approval from the Obama administration, has done her best to prevent border agents from doing their jobs. The Government Accountability Office estimated that only 15 percent of our southern border is actually operationally controlled. Inaction doesn’t do enough to explain this.

Instead of going after the culprits, Eric Holder and the Obama administration, Democrats like Senator Feinstein considers this a great opportunity to introduce strict gun control laws.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said “perhaps mistakes were made” in the botched gun-walking program known as Fast and Furious, but she said trying to assign blame misses the larger problem.

“This is a deep concern for me. I know others disagree, but we have very lax laws when it comes to guns,” Feinstein, an advocate of gun control, said during Tuesday’s hearing of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism.

Of course we all know guns aren’t at issue here. It is more about the policy of the Obama administration to put the guns in the hands of criminals and drug cartels in the first place, while doing absolutely nothing to improve border security.

Not only has our government worked against local law enforcement and border agents in securing our border, they also armed the criminals who violate US sovereignty for good measure.

As if circumstances were not already advantageous enough for the cartels, now the government has become their accomplices.

Should an American police force have officers, undercover officers, and private contractors conducting black bag operations, spying, and espionage? Should American taxpayers foot the bill for this abuse to the tune of billions? Should NYPD be something that rivals the CIA, the Israeli Mossad, and KGB? If the FBI found bomber patsies, supplied the bombs, and the plan to attempt to blow up the twin towers in 1993, and if the FBI paid White Supremest Radio Jock Hal Turner to incite violence, bombing, for citizens to commit acts for terrorism, and for citizens to fight each other, should the NYC PD Mossad goons investigate the FBI, conducting black bag operations against the FBI to prevent terrorism from occurring in New York City and in America in the future?

Serpico was a Narcotics Detective in New York City's Policing past. Serpico couldn't find a single officer to make a police misconduct complaint to that wasn't corrupt.There are fewer checks and balances, and billions can now be stolen in the guise of protecting us from terrorists. What if police are a greater threat than any real terrorist threat. What if police and court system in the US is just organized crime? Officers can now rape, rob, murder, and confine indefinitely citizens globally citing the State Secrets privilege.

Really, what has America become? Do you really just want to occupy Wall St., or do you want to occupy your own country for positive change?

My further comment on America's Police State:

Writing here on Opednews.com, respectfully requesting what you want done with your tax dollars, being against illegal wars of occupation, or proposing legislation to elected officials to try and fix the police state and Soviet style courts can land a citizen on a Homeland Security Fusion Center enemies list. If you want information on the location of the nearest fusion center [click here].

Smart electric meters are used to know when you are home, or not, and report your use and patterns to authorities. More states are pushing for laws so citizens have to have keys to their houses in lock boxes outside, accessible to police and other officials so they have 24/7 access to your home when you are there, or not. Cell phone and internet providers illegally cooperate with illegal government domestic spying programs. Police are paying informants to file fast reports to facilitate arrests and false imprisonment, and beat up citizens to retaliate against them for making police misconduct complaints or because they are politically active.

Maybe 75%, or more, is spent on policing, rigged courts, the military, government, and mounting interest on the debts you never agreed to pay in the first place. The corruption is in your face. The government's security programs are not for you, it is for them. They don't want to be prosecuted, they don't want the people to connect the dots, and successfully rise up. Growing your own food is pretty much illegal, the government is going after small businesses, the self-employed, intact families, and homeowners. The ATF is supplying guns to Mexican Drug Gangs. The Government wants to end cash transactions between citizens. Do you get the picture?
